QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 19, 2013 -> 08:27 AM) I'm on the career horse and it pays way better. What career?

Trevor's missions are so fun. They're all super wreckless.
  3. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 10:42 PM) We're talking about multimillion dollar companies here. This isn't your mom and pop app. It's kind of a big deal. Remember, Apple's never in the wrong.
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 07:53 PM) I think I missed the meeting where everyone declared Trent Richardson and his 3.5 ypc as a top 5 running back in the NFL that you build a franchise around. Maybe you were looking at fantasy football rankings.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSoxFan05 @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 06:35 PM) Phil Niekro got on with an ERA over 4... but good list of elite pitchers he's joining His defense must have been complete s***.
  6. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 06:29 PM) http://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/..._puts_him_in_a/ Someone put a chart together listing Chris Sale and the 11 other pitchers in history to put up 7+ WAR seasons but end up with a sub-.500 record. 7 bWAR. His fWAR isn't as spectacular.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 04:34 PM) Cyanogenmod is becoming a company and they're going to introduce an app in the play store for easily installing their ROM. Maybe this will allow them to put in some more features. In comparison to some other ROMs (most of which are CM forks), it lacks a lot of the cool features other ROMs have had for a while. For instance, I can't even make my navigation bar transparent or change the height of it in CM. I also can't assign long-press actions to those navigation buttons. AOKP (and ROMs based off it) has had that option for more than a year.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 01:55 PM) Yeah, and in our industry they use it to schedule the energy around the grid too, which can be an absolute chore if you're trying to do it verbally. IM's are easier than sending emails as well. I know that companies use IM clients...but AIM? AIM was something everyone used when I was in middle school. I was expecting something along the lines of a Microsoft product for corporate IM.
  9. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 18, 2013 -> 01:10 PM) I need a product that can monitor and save AIM messages specifically. That is the IM client that the energy trading folks use. People (especially corporations) still use AIM?
  10. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 17, 2013 -> 10:22 AM) Josh Gordon, Marlon Brown, or Jermaine Gresham at Flex2? Gordon is coming back from suspension so I'm not sure if he needs to "get back in the swing of things", Brown has been money the first 2 weeks, and Gresham is facing the Pack who gave up big yards to Vernon Davis week 1. Weeden's hurt, so playing Cleveland receivers is probably a bad idea.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 17, 2013 -> 08:44 AM) If we are going to continue on with this "what pieces do you have that will play on the next winner," then I think the Sox have 3 starters on the roster right now - Semien, Garcia, and Garcia. Semien and Avisail will be the two bigger ones of that group, but I think Leury is going to be the shortstop on that team as a good defender, good enough bat. At that point, I think you need to find 4 more pieces with at least 2 of those being very good players. My guess is that Abreu is priority #1 this offseason. He is the perfect fit for this team and they are in a very good position to sign him (and I think they will). McCann is probably #2, but I could see someone like Boston signing him, especially if they get knocked out this year. I'm not counting on him, but he would be a great fit too. I also think they'll look to move one of Quintana or Santiago for a young piece. It was mentioned off-hand either here or somewhere else, but Carlos Gomez is a guy I could see the Sox having interest in too, especially with how badly the Brewers need pitching. You deal Santiago or Quintana, Trayce Thompson, and a couple other smaller prospects and you have a CF and 3 or 6-7 hitter. Then you can make a move for someone at 3B. I've suggested Sandoval on several occasions (deal Viciedo/De Aza and Beckham with the idea that the Giants then move Scutaro to 3B; for argument's sake, we'll say it's De Aza) so I'll stick with that even if it wouldn't work for now primarily because it's not the names but the ideas that matter at this point. Without having dealt Ramirez, the lineup going into next year (and, as always, this is my personal take but not necessarily what it would actually be) Semien - 2B McCann - C Gomez - CF Abreu - 1B Sandoval - 3B Dunn - DH Garcia - RF Viciedo - LF Ramirez - SS Phegley/Flowers - C Garcia - 2B/SS/3B/CF Gillaspie - 1B/3B Danks - LF/CF/RF Legitimately, that team has a shot to compete and be very good in the Central. It also has a chance to struggle with on base percentage and be a very hit or miss offense. However, the defense should be good all around and there are back ups that are valuable defensive players too. Overall, I would expect that team to win 85 games with a lowside being about 75-78 wins and an upside being between 95-97 wins but the more important aspect of that offense is that you suddenly have pieces to build around throughout the lineup - the only hole you have going into 2015 is an opening at DH, and at that point I think you want to try and use it as a way to get guys days off. That's getting ahead of ourselves. --- This is one example I just spitballed. If you were actually in charge of the White Sox, there are several moves you can make to be competing by next season, let alone by 2016, without giving up valuable time-controlled minor leaguers (what little the Sox have anyways). --- (also, the idea of "buying" a B-prospect for $30 million is ridiculous and among the worst possible use of resources) Hawk will have a heart attack from excitement. I don't know if I see Gomez putting up the number's he's putting up this year in the future. His BABIP probably isn't sustainable, although he is hitting more line drives. Plus, there's the issue that Gomez doesn't walk. His defense is awesome, but at this point, I think we need an impact bat more than an impact defender.
  12. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 11:31 PM) Faced the minimum and threw 97 pitches. That trade and the eventual extension of rizzo, if Cashner stays healthy could look really bad for Theo. That's a pretty big if.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 17, 2013 -> 08:01 AM) I'd be shocked if you can't adjust the sensitivity of the analog steering. I tried. There's an aim sensitivity slider, but lowering that didn't help much.
  14. chw42 replied to Kyyle23's topic in SLaM
One gripe about GTA V...analog steering is far too sensitive. Everything else is awesome though. The amount of detail is amazing.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 02:22 PM) Yeah, no coach in history could've accomplished those "feats" but Thibs. lol. Certainly not Erik Spolestra.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 02:08 PM) So what makes a great coach? Running your top guys into the ground against s***ty eastern conference teams to the point they have nothing left for the PS three years in a row? The Bulls don't get to the playoffs last year without Thibodeau. They don't get two consecutive #1 seeds without him. They don't get to the ECF in 2011 without him. Do the Heat win the last two championships without Spolestra? Probably.
  17. I have no idea where this notion of Spolestra being a great coach came from. Didn't everyone pile on his ass just a year ago for being incredibly incompetent? I guess winning championships changes everything, huh? Even though he wasn't anywhere near the reason the Heat won those titles.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) Getting past giving the Heat more reacharounds... Derrick Rose tells CSN that he is now 100%. Too bad, I was hoping he could actually play sometime soon. http://www.nbcchicago.com/blogs/outside-sh...-223821241.html Just 10% left.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 12:29 PM) I guess I saw the game a little differently than you guys...I wouldn't call the Vikings offense "bad." They do have one of the best rb's of all time on it, and a pretty solid WR in Bennett. Rudolph isn't a bad TE either. Are they are greatest show on turf? No, but they do the things they do do pretty well, and that can be difficult to stop late in games. The game plan for Minnesota is knocking them out early, so you can load up the box against their run and not care about whether they hit those short to mid-range completions or not. And realistically, we should have knocked them out early, but for some pretty rotten luck. You mean Jennings right?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 12:06 PM) http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/09/16/gra...t-auto-v-review I think this is going to mean "so much for Madden" for awhile. I still have to finish The Last of Us...but yeah f*** that, cause GTA V is going to be in my PS3 until I beat it.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) ...and while I'm at it, may I say to AMC, STOP trying to make Low Winter Sun happen, like fetch, it's NOT going to happen. This.
  22. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 11:24 AM) Joique Bell has been quietly racking up points due to his pass catching abilities. Should I consider starting him week 3 versus the weak-ass Redskins defense or choose Steven Jackson or Daryl Richardson even though they're injured and not as productive? Richardson is injured?
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 11:16 AM) Paging Marion Barber... Let me run out of bounds while running the clock out... Also, let me fumble when I have a huge hole to run through.
  24. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 11:14 AM) Fred Jackson intentionally dropped a pass on the last drive yesterday because it would have taken up too much time. How many other RBs are that smart? Not smart for fantasy football. Jackson's looked great in these first two games.
