  1. Mariners seem like a team of destiny. Down 8-1 in the 6th and now up 10-9.
  2. The Twins just roll over for the Yankees no matter what. The players all change yet the same mental block is there. It's so weird. I think the Rays were just bad and cold. Yandy and Randy were their only real threats offensively. None of those guys really scare you as they aren't huge power threats. Wander was supposed to be the guy for them but he was mostly hurt this year. The Yankees at least have 5 or 6 guys that will make you respect their ability to hit the ball out of the park. It'll be interesting to see how they do against Bieber since they've hit him well historically.
  3. Hernandez is pretty much the only guy in their lineup that mashes lefty pitching. Vlad, Bo, and Springer have reverse splits. Chapman and Kirk are more of less split neutral. It just so happened that the one guy who really mashes lefties hurt Ray today.
  4. Paul Seawald just blew up. He had been shaky recently too.
  5. Yankees also finished the year poorly. Cleveland has a shot, especially since the Yankees have been sitting at home for 5 days. The only real advantage of getting the bye is that the team from the first round can't throw their best pitcher in game 1.
  6. Rays are terrible. They've been bad for a few weeks now. Baltimore could have provided better opposition than Tampa.
  7. Gonzalez finally ends it. My god, the series was won by scoring a whole 3 runs.
  8. Rays finally get a guy on 3rd with less than 2 outs and strike out lmao
  9. I was surprised Margot couldn't beat that.
  10. It would be real fitting if Ramirez hits a walk off homer here.
  11. Ramirez made a similar play on Engel in that game we blew a 6 run lead.
  12. This is some pathetic offense from the Rays
  13. MLB is doing Nathan for You jokes now. You love to see it.
  14. Only 2 homers were hit to straight away center with a launch angle of 30 degrees and an exit velo between 99 and 100. That's actually crazy. Edit: There were no homers hit with those parameters in 2021. 4 in 2020 and 6 in 2019. Edit 2: if you lower the minimum exit velo to 95 there were 5 homers to CF this year with a launch angle of 30 and an exit velo of less than 100. There were 11 in 2019.
  15. Mets look like the Sox did in the playoffs last year. Pitching staff limping to the finish and offense not hitting for power. And the Padres aren't even close to the team the Astros were last year.
  16. Padres absolutely murdering Scherzer.
  17. Scherzer doesn't look fully healthy
  18. Helsley gave up 9 ERs all season. 4 ER today.
  19. Well technically, Suarez did double a run in.
  20. It sure would have been nice to have Wheeler on this team for the past 3 seasons instead of Keuchel...
  21. Why is Michael Kay announcing in the Phillies Cardinals game? I thought he only did Yankees games.
  22. Cleveland pitched really well, but damn the Rays didn't have a very good approach against Bieber. They tried pulling everything when they should have tried to hit the ball the other way since Bieber kept throwing pitches on the outer part of the zone. Siri got the message but none of the other hitters did.
  23. Rays are kinda screwed here. I don't see them scoring off Karinchak or Clase
  24. Looks like there's a decent amount of empty seats in Cleveland for this game too.
  25. This entire game is a snooze fest. No wonder MLB hid it at 11 AM.
