Yankees up 4. Even if we lose, we still have possession of first.

This is our last chance here. I don't see us hitting Holland in the 9th.

QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 09:16 PM) Are Paulie & Rios available for pinch hitting tonight? & why are they even out, just a day to rest? Rios has a stiff back. He probably hurt it on a swing last night. Not sure what's wrong with Paulie.

lol so Quintana replaced John Danks and he gets John Danks' run support. Funny how that works out.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 09:10 PM) It'll be a damn shame to lose this game. It's already lost. The back end of the Royals bullpen is uninhabitable, as we saw last night.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 09:03 PM) Man oh man. I can't remember the last time the Sox just got absolutely dominated by a pitcher with this bad of a season going. Luis Mendoza in 2008.

It baffles me how Guthrie could have been so bad.

How many balls have we just popped straight up today? WTF?

GT: Royals @ Sox, 7:10, CSN
Solid start by Quintana. He doesn't deserve an L.

Chavez with an awesome AB to drive in another run on a little ground ball. 10-7 Yanks.

8-7 Yankees now. We really need to start hitting against Guthrie.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 08:27 PM) Never thought Sox would get dominated by Guthrie. It would do wonders for our chances if Hudson can find a way to get on base to start the 6th. Get well soon Rios! It has happened before.

GT: Royals @ Sox, 7:10, CSN
I swore that Guthrie's owned us on multiple occasions, but he has a 4.52 ERA against us and is only 3-5.

Jakemeister vs Royals in "Jake N Bake"
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 7, 2012 -> 09:48 PM) That's a dumb reason. You put your best hitter in the 3 hole. I could care what hand he was born with. The best hitter should hit in the 4th hole. The 4th and 5th spots get more opportunities to drive in runs than any other position in the lineup. This is proven through Markov chain analysis. I'm alright with the way the lineup is constructed right now. I'd think a swap of A.J. and Dunn would be good though.
