QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 11, 2011 -> 12:17 AM) David Stern is the hero we deserve, but not the one we need right now. So we'll hate him, becuase he can take it. Batman quote FTW.

KC Johnson is saying that the Bulls will give Rip Hamilton a 2 year $10 million deal by tomorrow. Not bad for a stop-gap and a definite improvement over Bogans. I really wished that JR wouldn't be such a greedy bastard though. Apparently, they didn't even offer Jason Richardson the full MLE contract. SMH.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) Bass and Davis is pretty much a wash, Davis is probably a little better defensively because of his bulk, while Bass probably has the better mid-range jumper. But paying $6.5M annually for Big Baby is a waste IMO. A guy who shoots 44% at the PF position isn't really going to be a huge asset unless that improves. EDIT: And we got Von Wafer also. Well Dwight will definitely be staying now! Davis' TS%: 50% Bass' TS%: 57% You're talking about an above average shooter vs. a piss poor shooter. Especially considering the fact that Davis takes a lot of high percentage shots. I really don't think Dwight's coming back. And if that is the case, then this move was just a serious WTF.

QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) I didn't realize how stacked the DBacks were with pitching prospects. Dang. I like Cahill, good trade for them. They're a strong team. Cahill's high GB rate is a good fit for that park. However, that Arizona infield isn't the 2010 Oakland defense. Cahill was great in 2010 because the A's had a hell of a infield defense to support his high GB rates. Arizona's rotation is looking good, Cahill is a pretty good pitcher for a #3 guy.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 06:22 PM) Wished we tried to go after him on that deal except for signing Big Baby @ 26/4 in a S&T deal with Brandon Bass. But apparently Davis was one of the guys Howard demanded Otis Smith sign this off-season to have any chance of keeping him, so that's what they've done. Before you know it, Monta Ellis or Josh Smith will be on our roster just to appease Dwight also. That is flat out stupid. When you know Howard's most likely going to be gone, why the hell sign his buddy, who IMO, is far worse than Bass? Glen Davis is terrible.

I wouldn't mind Crawford playing 25 min a game off the bench as the 6th man if the Bulls are getting him. JRich would be more of a 30-36 min full-time guy since he can actually play some defense. I think right now, he is the most ideal FA for the Bulls, but he might be out of our price range. I definitely would not mind starting Brewer and giving him 20 min a game as a SG/SF and having Crawford come off the bench as a 25 min player. It would lessen the minutes load on Deng (he shouldn't be playing 40 min a game, more like 34-36). Korver's role would also be reduced, which wouldn't be a bad thing. So basically, you have a 4 man rotation at SF/SG with Deng: 36 min at SF Crawford: 25 min at SG Brewer: 20 min (8 at SG, 12 at SF) Korver: 15 min at SG The defense will take a slight hit, but I think the offensive production will outweigh that.

Good kid but he's one of the worst writers I've ever seen and he has a complete lack of sports knowledge, enjoy and please leave comments on how big of a moron he is: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ycn-10640141 Bogans a defensive liability? Oh really...?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 05:50 PM) If not Howard, then Okafor or something has to be coming back from the Hornets. I doubt Derrick Caracter will be their new starting 4. Probably. The salaries don't match at this point. Maybe Ariza will go back to LA if it's not Okafor.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 05:45 PM) At this point it's a foregone conclusion. The Lakers don't swing and miss. How the hell will they get Dwight? They have nothing to trade except Bynum. The only real chance they have at Howard is signing him next off-season.

If the Hornets are getting Kevin Martin, I wonder if it's a possibility for the Bulls to trade for him. The Bulls would have to dump a decent amount of salary to absorb Martin's $12 million. That would mean one of Brewer or Korver (or maybe both) + Asik + Charlotte pick at the least. And that's assuming the Hornets would want to dump Martin...

If this is a 3 way deal like Yahoo is reporting...then the Hornets came out of this one in really good shape. Basically...CP3 for Odom, Scola, and Martin. That's 3 very good players for one superstar. I'd take that.

Ugh, I don't want to root against either With the Cubs front office finally knowing what the hell they're doing, I actually don't have any displeasure when seeing the Cubs make a good move. But then again, I've been physically away from stupid Cubs fans for a while now and my mind may change when I encounter some stupid ones again.

Cyber Monday
I bought a new laptop for $400. Saved $100, so somewhat decent. Cyber Monday is often overrated. A lot of the people on the deal sites call it "Free Shipping Monday". Which is more or less true. It doesn't come close to Black Friday.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 05:47 PM) Not necessarily. In Thibs' defensive system, SG and SF are interchangeable, so Granger could theoretically play the 2. But, if we were to obtain Granger, I'd see it as this package: Asik, Brewer, Bobcats pick/First and multiple 2nds, and Bogans (to make it in the cap). Now, the rumor is the Pacers want Rondo for Collison and Hibbert, so they might clear it out to make space for Rondo to be the star in a defensive lineup of Rondo-Brewer-George-Hansborough-Asik. The Celtics would flip Collison/Hibbert/Picks for Paul and try to sign Dwight with their remaining cap space. Then the Bulls have this starting five, Rose-Granger-Deng-Boozer-Noah. That's a good starting five, but Granger/Deng is a bit redundant. Now, one team has been interested in Deng in the past...the 76ers. A Deng for Iguodala swap could interest and benefit both teams, leaving us with... PG - Rose/Watson SG - Iguodala/Korver SF - Granger/Butler PF - Boozer/Gibson C - Noah/FA (Thomas?) The Bulls aren't trading Deng. Thibs would freak out.
