  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 25, 2011 -> 12:36 PM) http://deadspin.com/5871045/tnts-nba-forev...-is-spectacular Might be the best thing ever. Jordan Rose fistbump.
  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 24, 2011 -> 10:03 PM) Trent Richardson with the #3 pick? Or does Luck fall in their lap if Indy passes on him? Man, they got a lot of holes. I sincerely hope that Luck does not go to Minnesota.
  3. Wow AP has a torn MCL and ACL. His career as a dominant runner might be over.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 24, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) Bills officially finish off Tebow. He goes 13/30, 185 yards, 1 TD, 4 INT (3 in Q4, couple for TD's). Denver now needs to beat KC next week to make the playoffs. The Raiders are about to tie them in record and the Chargers get the Lions later on. Oy. The magic is dwindling.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 24, 2011 -> 02:47 PM) The Bills have just dropped 17 points on the Tebows in the first 7:15 of the 4th quarter and are on the verge of putting the miracle worker away. The Broncos are nothing when that defense isn't effective. The Bills don't even have a good offense. Oakland somehow won that game against KC. Looks like it could be a 3-way tie in that division going into week 17. Exciting stuff.
  6. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 08:22 PM) They won a World Series with Berkman playing out of position all year so I guess that makes it alright? I was thinking more about Beltran's health and how his knees will hold up playing CF.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 06:55 PM) Carlos Beltran 2 yr deal with the Cardinals. Good signing at $13 million a year. Allen Craig will be out until May with his injury, so Beltran will be a nice bat to have until then. Apparently, they want to play Beltran in center after Craig comes back. I don't know how that's going to work out...
  8. Nationals looking good with Stras, Zimmermann, and Gio. They also paid a lot for Gio though. I don't think he's gonna be that great outside of Oakland.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) Brook Lopez is possibly out for the season with a stress fracture in his foot that requires surgery. Sports Illustrated's Zach Lowe wrote on Twitter that he was told by a doctor who works with the Lakers that Lopez will need three to four months for healing and rehab, which would basically put him out for the entire season. You can scratch the Nets off of possible trade destinations for Dwight, now. Damn, the entire season? Wow, don't draft him for fantasy...lol.
  10. Haha, no way.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 01:55 PM) jonmorosi Jon Morosi #Twins sign Jason Marquis to one-year, $3 million contract. Oh god... Watch him pull some Cy-like starts against us.
  12. QUOTE (kev211 @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 01:15 PM) Not one person picked thibs to repeat, and looking at the MVP predictions as well not one person picked Rose to repeat. DRose probably won't. His scoring numbers are going down with Rip on the team.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 01:23 AM) I've seen enough. The Clippers are a legitimate championship contender. Oh my goodness. Forget about Blake Griffin for a second. What planet is DeAndre Jordan from? How can you be that f***ing athletic at his size? He, IMO, will be the second best C in basketball when it's all said and done. The Clippers are the new Showtime. Two pre-season games is enough bro? You do know even the post-Jordan 90s and early 2000s Bulls won pre-season games right?
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 11:03 PM) Rose isn't Ray Allen from downtown but it's not like he's a brick machine, either. During the season he was hitting those at .332 pretty consistently, really not bad. In the playoffs he lost his legs due to being completely worn out (.248, and it got worse as the playoffs went on) and started bricking. And it's because he had that ankle injury.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 09:47 PM) Skip Bayless "I love Derek Rose off the court, but as I sit and listen to you(stephen A smith) break it down, I do not love Derek Rose on the court" STFU Skip, anything you can say to be the opposite opinion that literally made my brain hurt. Bayless effectively caused brain damage by talking You can't listen to the content, you should know that's garbage. But looking at these two bicker back and forth on national TV and the looks on Stephen A Smith's face were totally worth the 5 min.
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) Chw42, If he went by FIP Carpenter was 2.78 and Wainwright was 3.11. 2 other NL pitchers had better FIP than Wainwright (Kershaw and Johnson). He stated it was because Carpenter threw 27 less innings. There is just no other statistical explanation (advanced or not). FWIW, 27 innings is worth about a whole win (in terms of WAR) at the FIPs those three guys put up. Vazquez and Wainwright both had higher fWAR than Carpenter that season. Wainwright literally edged Carpenter out by .1 wins, Vazquez was an entire win better.
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) Yep. Law only started working for Blue Jays in 2002, and stopped in 2006. Obviously it was all of the success those Blue Jays teams had that caused him to resign. I wonder if he had anything to do with that Wells extension.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) Chw42, No Law really doesnt know baseball. In 2009 he voted the NL Cy Young as follows: My NL Cy Young ballot was 1. Tim Lincecum 2. Javier Vazquez 3. Adam Wainwright Chris Carpenter had an era+ of 182, Javy 143. His argument was that Carpenter pitched 3 less games and therefore that made up for half a run era difference. Hes literally baseball stupid. Law was also voting based off of FIP, which Vazquez bested Carpenter in (barely, I might add). I didn't agree with what he did, but it's not like he did it blindly.
  19. I've never been more entertained by ESPN...ever. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:7375752 The looks on Stephen A. Smith's face were freaking hilarious.
  20. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 08:33 PM) Law is not considered very knowledgeable in baseball. When he first applied to the Baseball Writers Association of America they rejected him. No, he's just an ass. I think he's one of the better minor league insiders and he knows his sabermetrics, but his tone just makes you want to punch him in the face.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 08:22 PM) Oh I want to punch this guy in the face. More fuel to the fire.
  22. Going with the billboard making fun of Cowley.
  23. Who are the two prospects? Travis Wood is decent.
  24. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 07:22 PM) Can we recap which trades he has broken before? Apparently, the Peavy deal, the Jackson deal, and the Garland/Cabrera deal.
  25. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 21, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id...for-caleb-hanie Interesting. Hanie was a decent passer while moving.
