  1. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) He's never been any good. Has been figured out since day one. Has never run a NFL level offense for an entire game. Only made a few plays to win games that were kept close by the Broncos' stellar defense. He should have been figured out since day 1, but it took teams almost half a season to shut him down in crunch time.
  2. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 06:36 PM) 6 for 22, 60 yards, INT and a fumble, he'll forever be known as a Pro Bowl QUARTERBACK and probably get MVP votes (hopefully not after all these late season losses). What a f***ing f***ing joke. And his team is going to the playoffs. SMH...
  3. DeMarcus Cousins wants to get traded. Who the hell does he think he is? Dwight Howard? Start shooting better than 32% and then we'll talk.
  4. I think teams have finally figured out Tebow. About damn time.
  5. Oakland down 5 and the Broncos are down to a minute left in their game with no timeouts. This is gonna be good.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 03:59 PM) I'd say 10-6 if they started McCown over Hanie from the beginning. They could have been 10-6 with Hanie. If Roy Williams didn't have hands of steel, Marion Barber wasn't football-stupid, and Chris Conte knew what the hell to do on a hail marry in the end zone, the Bears would have won the Denver and KC games. 3-4 plays in those two games (and the Oakland game) defined the season for us.
  7. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 1, 2012 -> 01:17 PM) I would also trade Thornton, AJ, Ohman and Crain I think you trade either Ohman or Thornton, but not both. I'd love to get rid of Ohman for something. Nobody will want A.J. at $6 million. I actually think it'd be a good idea to keep Floyd. If you couldn't get what you wanted for Danks, Floyd won't get you anything better.
  8. Picking up the option wasn't a bad idea. Got something out of it at least.
  9. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 06:15 PM) I wonder where the two new guys obtained from the Padres will fall in Sickels' list? Castro will definitely be in the top 10 now. Probably around 4th or 5th I imagine.
  10. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 01:37 PM) Goldstein was just on the score. He views Hernandez as a fringy bullpen type. Castro still has a middle of the rotation ceiling if he can figure things out. His mechanics and repeatability are the problems. Coop will definitely fix him.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) I think Mark helps other pitchers as well. His approach is the best in baseball. Perhaps in baseball history. Get it and throw it. Move the ball around. IMO Sox should have paid him. Let's not go that overboard. There's no question that Mark helped shape Danks' pitching approach (with the cutter and working fast), but let's not pretend that Cooper had nothing to do with it.
  12. It looks like Castro couldn't find any control at AAA last season. 21 Ks and 18 BB in 19 innings. He only had 16 walks in 90 innings at the AA level.
  13. We got a reclamation PROSPECT back in return..ugh. Oh well, Carlos was expendable anyways.
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) Holy s***, I think I need to do this. If even one of you says you're down, then I'm down immediately. Even at $1500. If I can get in at $1,000 still...no, haven't looked, don't care...then that saves me $500. PM me if you actually want to do this. Mostly for vanity purposes, but this could actually make and meet several new year resolutions, if you actually do that kind of thing. I think I have enough classes on my hands. lol I'd love to know how to do this kind of stuff (somewhat fits into my major with the CS stuff), but I don't think I have the time or the money to do it.
  15. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 05:51 AM) I'm certainly ok with him not taking a lot of 3s but in no way should he abandon the shot. Do they though? Don't get me wrong they're the best team in the NBA but they've played against some teams playing some bad basketball, I actually haven't been that impressed with Miami so far. Yeah, Charlotte sucks. If Wade has a bad night, the Heat aren't going to win by much, even against the bad teams. Wade's been somewhat off the past two games and they've barely won against Charlotte and Minnesota.
  16. Rose tonight: 42 minutes 8-14 for 57% fg% 3-4 on 3 pointers 10-11 from the line 8 rebounds 16 assists 1 steal 29 points PER 37.81 TS% 79.69% Game Score 32.6 (absolutely insane) Offensive Rating 149.48 DRose has had two absolutely insane games so far. He had a 88% TS against the Lakers and now he pulls off an 80% TS game. The fact he had 16 dimes along with almost 30 points is incredible.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 12:36 AM) Didn't catch the last 3 1/2 quarters or so. Going by the boxscore, it looks like the Bulls were pretty impressive. 3-1 so far in games all on the road in less than a week is certainly nothing to be upset about. Oh, and Rose needs to follow LeBron's lead and just abandoned the three. LeBron looks more unstoppable than he ever has now that he's not letting defenses off the hook with 3's and long jumpers (he's taken one 3 in 4 games so far). Rose could be similarly unstoppable if he does the same consistently. In a shortened season, I'm not sure I want to see Derrick exhaust himself by driving on almost every isolation. I'd love to see that during the playoffs, but after seeing what happened to Derrick last season, I'd rather have him ease off the accelerator a bit this season. Oh and Rip Hamilton needs to learn how to shoot again. He's missing almost all of his long-range shots. His TS% so far looks abysmal (I think it's like .450). I'm sure he'll break out of this slump, but he's not doing anything well right now except leaking out on fast breaks. Also, Ronnie Brewer is 3/3 from 3 this year. It looks like he really worked on that during the off-season. Good for him, if Rip keeps sucking, he can have more of Rip's minutes.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 30, 2011 -> 10:42 PM) Man. I'll just have to say I violently disagree. Mark has been awesome. Just off ERA alone, Danks has a 3.77 ERA since 2008. Mark's ERA since 2008 is 3.88. Danks has also had more fWAR than Buehrle over that time period, even though Buehrle has thrown more innings during that timespan. Add in the 6 year age difference and it's a no brainer that I'd rather give the $14 million to Danks. I know you like to relish 2005 and Mark has been the face of this franchise for the past decade. But moving forward, Danks is the much better option to give a big contract to. The Marlins are going to be overpaying Buehrle by quite a bit in 2-3 years.
  19. QUOTE (Felix @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 12:11 AM) That Clippers team has some good starters (and I know they were missing Billups tonight), but holy jesus are they thin. That's going to get exploited big time during this condensed schedule. Randy Foye, Brian Cook and Ryan Gomes are three of their first four off the bench? Ugh. Well, if Billups was healthy, Williams comes off the bench.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 31, 2011 -> 12:02 AM) Deandre Jordan reminds me of Josh Smith. Blocks and dunks Except Smith can make free throws.
  21. Bulls defense is still terrible. It's a good thing they didn't go to Griffin the entire time that quarter. He was owning Boozer and Noah.
  22. Derrick Rose is schooling everyone right now. CP3 and the MVP are going at it a little bit. I like this.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 30, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) It's all relative. Look at what the Sox are paying Danks. Some might say he is not worth that amount of loot as well. Danks is 26 and he's been a better pitcher than Mark over the past 4 seasons. There's a huge difference.
  24. Hey, there's the Derrick Rose I know!
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 30, 2011 -> 10:06 PM) I feel like the clippers have no half court, set offense at all. It's called give it to Blake and hope something good happens.
