2011 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 15, 2011 -> 02:36 PM) I'm watching the Jays/Twins game right now. Does Brandon Morrow have the best 'stuff' in the game? Fangraphs was talking about this a few days ago. I'm really starting to wonder. I really truly think he has the best stuff in the game (until Strasburg comes back) right now. He's up there. The Jays have a bunch of good talent.

Jose Bautista...holy s***. I just saw the first homer he hit today. God damn! This guy picked him up in the 4th round of his fantasy league and is very very happy.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 14, 2011 -> 07:48 PM) 50-50 to me. I'm sure the majority of the board will take the team that has Jordan. Which is ironic, considering my user name. Edit: Lmao@Stockton guarding Rose. My goodness that would be suicide. I just thought about it. I see you are celebrating Miranda Cosgrove's birthday.

I have never seen this Bulls team fail me over any extended periods of time this year. I don't expect them to stop now. My mind does say the Heat are better and more talented, but they were also in that position the 3 times the Bulls beat them this regular season. Bulls in 7.

This team is a joy to watch when somebody other than Rose can score. Boozer needs to play like this against Miami for the Bulls to pull out a series against them.

Horrible offense to close out the 2nd. Atlanta's still in the game, unfortunately.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 12, 2011 -> 02:38 PM) I know what you're getting at but that's not the best comparison in the world. I know, Jeter was never the best at anything at any particular point in his career, but Kobe was the league's best scorer for a good half decade.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 12, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) There is no logical reason. Just like Kobe continually making the All Defensive team. Kobe's a great player. But he really needs to give back about 3 All NBA selections, 5 or 6 All Defensive team selections and his '08 MVP (Paul should've easily won that). Kobe is the Derek Jeter of basketball.

Baseball's Biggest Comebacks
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 12, 2011 -> 02:51 AM) found this story from last fall when I was doing some research, I wasn't surprised in the least that none of the teams that climbed all the way back in to make the playoffs didn't win the World Series....including last year's Sox team, well, there's always a first time, right??? http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ys-f...comebacks081809 A couple of teams they didn't mention because they were already 5-10 games over .500 at the All-Star Break. 2006 Minnesota Twins, 26-33 (low point, actually this year's team at 11 games under .500 NOW is the all-time worst record for a Twins' team under Gardenhire) 11.5-12 GB 47-39 at ASB 70-33 record to finish the season 2009 Colorado Rockies, 31-33 low point, 11.5 GB 47-41 at ASB 61-37 record to finish the season 2005 Houston Astros, started 15-30/21-35 (low point was 16 GB) ASB 44-43 Finished the season on a 68-38 run This team probably compares very well with the Astros.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX COME BACK WINNER!!!
Peavy averaged 91.35 on his Four seamer, 90.5 on his two seamer. Fastest he got on any pitch was 93.3. I have to say that I'm impressed. He had good control, too. It's good that we have 6 starters who can give us a chance to win every game. Hopefully, Peavy keeps on progressing and he can average 92-93 on the fastball like he used to.

Konerko's flip was something. Rajon Rondo ain't got s*** on him.
