  1. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) Paul Konerko, Great year. Jayson Worth, Horrible year. It evens out. Werth hasn't been horrible... Now if you say Paul Konerko, great year. Derek Lee, bad year. Then that makes more sense.
  2. Luke Scott makes $4 million this year. He is arbitration eligible next year. Would be a great trade for the Sox to make if they can't get Dunn or DeJesus in a reasonable deal.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) Luke Scott would be a great fit and hopefully wouldn't cost too much. I have a feeling Ozzie would like him since he can play a couple of positions and he also gets to keep his little rotating DH scheme running.
  4. The problem with getting McGrady is that if you do get him, how much do you pay him? The Bulls have $4 million left to spend before reaching the cap. Even if you give McGrady a two year deal worth $5-6 million, they'd have less than $2 million left to spend on a big. We don't know how good Omer Asik will be.
  5. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) I'm not basing it off the fact he hit 2 HRs since coming off the DL, but just that he would be an upgrade, I think Luke Scott would be a suitable guy to target and probably get him for something reasonable. I like Luke Scott as a possible option. He's not very good in the OF, but he's not Carlos Quentin or Jermaine Dye bad. You can play him there once in a while and he can be part of the rotating DH as he has good versatility.
  6. Man the Indians defense sucks. That official scorer in Minnesota must be blind, a ball went right off of Jason Donald's glove that was hit right at him and he ruled it a hit. Either that or he's doing favors for the Twins hitters. Another reason why errors are a horrible way to evaluate defense. Not only is it subjective, but these guys are doing favors for their home town hitters at times.
  7. That stupid hangover cost Santana a home run and then a double.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 04:58 PM) So you are saying that Kenny will trade for Scott? I'll take that in a heartbeat. Scott has two homers tonight.
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) Mark Kotsay is 7 for 48 (.146) with RISP this season. Of all the players in baseball with at least 40 AB in these situations Mark Kotsay has the 2nd worst batting average behind only Luke Scott (8-61, .131). Eh, at least Luke Scott hits solo home runs.
  10. Holy s***. Pittsburgh just scored 9 in the bottom of the first. Pedro Alvarez hit a grand slam. There were two consecutive errors and the Pirates had back to back to back doubles. Dave Bush is absolutely terrible.
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) Carlos Torres will be our 5th starter an hour after Hudson gets moved. Carlos Torres walks the world.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:35 PM) What's crazy is, if they REALLY wanted to, they'd have enough pieces in the farm to acquire Prince or Dunn and slide him over to 1B in place of the garbage Chris Davis. And Bengie Molina is somehow hitting again. Andrus isn't a bad leadoff man either.
  13. QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:34 PM) They gotta do something...this is the most frustrating 1st place White Sox team of all time I'd say 03 was a little more frustrating. That team had so much talent and absolutely just tanked. They were wildly inconsistent on offense and every 5th day was a struggle because they'd have Felix Diaz or Arnie Munoz pitching. I hate how Kenny felt the need to go get Roberto Alomar when we had pitching issues.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) Is there a more terrifying 2-6 in baseball than what Texas throws out there every night? Young Kinsler Hamilton Guerrero Cruz I would hate to face this team. The fact that Cruz hits 6th is scary. This is like our 06 offense, but even better.
  15. QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) Contract year. Makes perfect sense. Your skills usually don't increase at age 34 no matter how hard you try.
  16. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:28 PM) Nope. I think I remember 3E8 saying he couldn't make the last 3. I can't remember why. We were all disappointed cause they were awesome. Damn, the first three were great.
  17. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:20 PM) I added a couple more. ESPN's opening montage from 06. DJ's famous "GONE", the 'regular' intro that was played at opening day 06, and I just found the banner reveal that somebody recorded from 2006 opener. I wish I could remember who that was. There's no July, August, and September highlight vids like the April, May, and June ones?
  18. Rangers up 3-0 already.
  19. Why are the Cubs so comfortable with letting a piece of crap GM ruin their team some more?
  20. Kenny hasn't majorly overpaid in a trade in a long, long time.
  21. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) Balta, Am I reading your post right that you think Konerko is "overachieving"? If so I don't agree. Paulie has shown consistency in numbers and was an all-star before this year too. Konerko is overachieving. Nobody expected a .400 wOBA season from him like this. If this season were to end today, Konerko would finish with the highest wOBA of his career at age 34. It doesn't make sense.
  22. Do you happen to have anymore?
  23. These are awesome.
  24. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 02:55 PM) You know what's scary though? If someone told you before the season Pierre had a .329 OBP, one would probably assume he was hitting .290ish. He's at .258. If his average continues to rise, hopefully we'll see that OBP move up too. His OBP is padded by HBP, don't get too excited. He doesn't have a great control over those. His walk rate is still low.
  25. I don't think Rizzo has too many suitors outside of the Sox so he's just trying to drive up the price.
