It's pretty clear at this point...
QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 10:45 AM) Was discussed on the White Sox post game show. Have you ever heard the callers on the post game show? The thought of getting Soria is super unrealistic for this team. DeJesus makes sense though.

QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 05:33 PM) Heading up to Wrigley to watch Roy Halladay pitch. Cue Southside. He wasn't sharp. To be honest with you, I felt like I was robbed.

Putz for Closer
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 10:07 AM) It might well be that we need to F*** with his mind a little bit. Every time he gets comfortable in his role, we get a game like yesterday. When he was on the verge of having his job taken away from him in late May/early June, he genuinely stepped up. I was more or less talking about what would happen if you took him out of the closer's role. Not if he was still in it. I have a feeling Bobby wouldn't be very good as a middle reliever or a setup man given his history in the 8th inning.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 09:23 AM) I'd like to have more power from the left side, but I'd take DeJesus right now in a heartbeat. I wonder how Quentin would react to being made a full time DH. Something tells me that he wouldn't be too happy. RF DeJesus 2B Beckham CF Rios 1B Konerko DH Quentin C Pierzynski SS Ramirez 3B Vizquel/Viciedo/Teahen LF Pierre That's a pretty good lineup from 1-5. Pierre would make a hell of a #9 hitter.

It's sad it took people this long to realize that Carlos Quentin can't play the OF.

And you'd be f***ing with Jenks' mind if you took him out of the closer's role. He'd be like dead weight on this team if you start pitching him as a middle reliever or a setup man.

Bobby didn't even get a blown save for yesterday. You have to actually be in the game when you give up the lead to get a blown save. So in reality, Santos got the blown save yesterday while Jenks got the loss. What a crappy stat the save is.

White Sox at Twins 7-18 game thread 1:05 first pitch
QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 03:02 PM) Anybody think Alexei might have a shot at a GG? Jeter will get it because the award sucks. But he should definitely get it. Best UZR among all MLB shortstops.

Our 1-2 hitters are just so bad at hitting. It might be time to think about moving Gordon back up to the two hole.

What the hell? Kotsay is a pro at grounding to second and you make him bunt?

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) I loved having Thome, but it's nice not seeing him hit into the shift for us any more. The defense on Dunn also means a big shift, right? But I sure do enjoy Mark Kotsay's grounders to second and Andruw Jones' strike outs!

Good start by Alex. Let's hope Konerko comes through this time.

Johnson leads all of MLB in pitcher WAR. So yeah, he should win the Cy as of now.

Cleveland is three outs away from sweeping, they're up 4.

3-2. We need some god damn hits, not groundouts.

Please DH Quentin
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 18, 2010 -> 01:19 PM) I think his speed advantage alone makes this untrue, but he's going to be just as bad very soon. Dye was a decent outfielder in terms of running routes and getting good reads, he was just way too damn slow. Quentin's just a little bit faster, but he looks clueless on balls out there at times.
