Who should the Sox trade for this winter?
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 11:17 PM) Granderson (ain't gonna happen) Ichiro (why not?) realistically bullpen help (I can't think of anybody specifically) Holladay!!! So now Matt Holliday and Roy Halladay come together to form Matroy Holladay? He'd be today's Babe Ruth then.

Who would you rather see win the AL Central
Definitely the Tigers.

My surprise player to be dealt
Lol, seriously? Braun and Kemp? I wish... Buehrle might get us a Colby Rasums, maybe.
-
2009 AL Cy Young Race
It should go to either Greinke or Felix. But knowing how these things go, If C.C. wins 20 games (he has the best chance to), he's going to win the thing.

Minnesota Twins @ Chicago White Sox, 7:11, CSN
Did JD turn a single into a triple? Ugh...
-
Is this the #1 Reason for our 2nd half debacle
I think Dye's dropoff might be the #1 reason with Buehrle's mediocre second half behind that. The bullpen's been bad as well. I don't know, it's probably a combination of the three.

Debate: Swap Linebrink for Bradley?
Garbage for garbage. If we keep Bradley in check and the Cubs eat half of his salary, I don't see why. He fits into the lineup pretty well as a left handed bat that we will be lacking next year. As long as he does well (hit for his career averages at least), the fans will stay off of him and he should be perfectly fine as long as he doesn't get hurt. He'd make an okay DH.

Zambrano: Sox One of Three Teams He Would Go To
Some idiot from Baseball Prospectus thought a Peavy and Zambrano swap was possible. All I have to say is: EPIC FAIL. Zambrano makes more, has more problems, and might be as productive as Peavy.

We gotta run Forte more come next week. Cutler had a hell of a game. Knox is going to be a pretty damn good receiver.

Justin Morneau done for the rest of the year
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 11:36 PM) How old are you? If you truly wish injury on a fellow human being, IMO something is wrong with you or the way you were raised. If this is considered a personal attack, turn me into the humane police force. Your second sentence is the worst single sentence I've ever read on Soxtalk. There can be none worse than that sentence. Ever. Oh yeah, like the people who were asking if this would be a sustained injury meant something totally different from what I said. I'm pretty sure all of us have gotten mad and irritated at some player of the opposing team, especially on the Twins or even any divisional rival. If, say, Miguel Cabrera gets hurt before a big series against the Tigers, I'm sure a lot of you would be cheering for him not to play in that said series. Hell, if it's a divisional race like it is now, most of you will be happy that he won't be able to contribute much for the rest of the year. It's not that I wish serious injury upon other people so that they would die (I don't know why any of you would infer that since I compared it to Joe Crede's injury, which is NOT life-threatening), it's just that it would make our life easier, as Sox fans if they did not play and do damage against the team we root for. Don't tell me that Vikings fans and Packers fans aren't somewhat glad over Urlacher's injury. It's not that they wanted that to happen, it's that it did happen, it benefits their team, and they are happy because it benefits their team. They had nothing to do with the injury. And really, if that's the worst thing you've seen on the internet, you should open up to the internet a bit more...

Justin Morneau done for the rest of the year
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 07:53 PM) What do you think happens if a broken bone in your spinal column moves around too much? It would be a life-threatening condition, obviously. But this is not life-threatening, yet, and neither is Crede's injury.

Justin Morneau done for the rest of the year
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 16, 2009 -> 07:43 PM) Yeah, its only the guys life and livelihood we are talking about... But hopefully a bus hits you tonight for this post. He's made somewhere around $80 million guaranteed in his career already. I don't think he's going to find himself living on the streets if something bad happens to him. Now, if I got ran over by a bus, I'd be dead. If he has back problems, the worst place he will find himself is a nice house in paradise. Big difference.

Justin Morneau done for the rest of the year
I hope this remains with him for a while. Something along the lines of Crede's injury.

Eric Bedard for 2010?
JUST SAY NO To Erik Bedard. He's an oft-injured p****.

The Official Put the Voodoo Devil Curse on the Tigers Thread
Robinson Tejada pitched for the Royals today. Have you guys noticed how good he's been since that game where he shut us down for 3 straight innings?

Alexei might play in the D.R.
If it means he won't be so bad come the start of the season, okay. I can't stand watching him play in April and May.

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 10:15 AM) A dislocated wrist shouldn't keep you out 4 months. Unless there's something else wrong, he should be back after a few games. Heck, even a BROKEN wrist shouldn't keep someone out the whole season. The article said there were some other complications.

Peavy claims to be ready
Good. This will put some people in the seats.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Sep 14, 2009 -> 12:13 AM) Oh by the way. Hester is going to the pro-bowl this year as a WR. He looked awfully good. It's amazing how easily he could be one of the better receivers in the league. Maybe he's finally figured it out now.

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 10:54 PM) yeah what a bastard...why did he tell Des/Knox to stop running routes? WHYYYYY The fact that he nearly threw three interceptions on three straight plays should tell you how bad Cutler was in the first half. Yes, the receivers made many mistakes, but you shouldn't cut Cutler that much slack.

I find it funny that Devin Hester was good and didn't drop passes, but Cutler made so many poor decisions, it's hard to express in words. Oh how things can change...
