I clicked this thread expecting to hear about a Konerko for Sandoval or Konerko for Rowand deal. You don't know how relieved I am that it was less ridiculous than those two.

Looks like Carlos is back on track. If he were playing at the Cell, he'd be 3-3 with two home runs and a double. His OPS is back around the .785 range. Good to see him end the season on such a high note.

If Greinke does indeed win it, it'll be the fourth straight year in which the winner of the Cy Young in the AL has come out of the Central. It would have been 6 years had Santana won it in 05 like he should have. Pretty interesting stuff.

Unless something like 05 happens, that's not a very good bullpen. You're going to need career years out of Pena, Carrasco, Thornton, and Linebrink to have a solid bullpen. I honestly don't see that happening.

Johnson would make a good two hole hitter. High contact rate, has a good OBP, extremely selective with good plate discipline. He'd come at a reasonable price as well. He doesn't have enough power to bat 5th or 6th, but in a lineup filled with possible right handed hitters, he'd make a hell of a pick-up if he's healthy. I like it.

He looked good for NYY and it's not uncommon business practice to show a little kind gesture for ripping a team in a trade as they did with Swish. A little good faith goes a long way and the Yankees should offer us a nice gesture, especially if Swish plays well into the Series. Mark Lowe - Seattle's got a lot of arms out there and hopefully they keep our buddy David at closer and let this guy go to us. Jason Bulger in Anahiem. Good stuff. Another guy who I saw live and liked. None of those guys are overpowering players or ego's. They go do their jobs and getting a couple of them in our pen could help. I'd love to get Huston Street at the back end of things but who knows if the Rockies still want to move him. Much bigger name and price tag but damn he is good. And somehow he gets away with not pitching off the rubber. Remarkable. Outside of that, we can get into the list of usual suspects offensively but we all know Dunn, Abreu, Crawford, Upton, etc. are people we'd like to see here and won't. I personally love to get a Howie Kendrick on this club. I can see us ending up with like Hideki Matsui at DH next year. Not horrible but he just seems like he'd be all that is available in terms of a cheap, power hitting, left-handed bat. I think KW may remake a chunk of that offense. We shall see. We can take a chance with Billy Wagner. I also like Rafael Soriano a lot, but he might cost a bit too much.

Where's Kotsay? He's hit .304 with us with a 105 OPS+. That's great for a bench player.

I think Dye's dropoff might be the #1 reason with Buehrle's mediocre second half behind that. The bullpen's been bad as well. I don't know, it's probably a combination of the three.

Garbage for garbage. If we keep Bradley in check and the Cubs eat half of his salary, I don't see why. He fits into the lineup pretty well as a left handed bat that we will be lacking next year. As long as he does well (hit for his career averages at least), the fans will stay off of him and he should be perfectly fine as long as he doesn't get hurt. He'd make an okay DH.
