I don't know about an extension. We want to go younger, not older. Jose's great, but at his age, any kind of an extension worth more than $5 million per for two or more years is out of the question. He's a great guy to have here for Alexei and Dayan in the future, but he's not 27, he's 37. Plus, if he really finishes off the season well, he may get picked up by some other team for a good amount of money on a short term deal. I don't think the Sox are going to pursue him if that happens.

I really think that Beckham needs to get moved to at least the 7th hole. Having BA or Getz bat in front of him seems kind of silly. And he really needs to bat 6th when A.J. gets a day off.

Not good. Hopefully it's nothing serious and the worst is day to day. In the meantime, we might get to see Jayson Nix at SS a bit more. I'm not going to complain.

Jose was very good tonight. ERA below 5 now. Beckham continues to impress and we get the big blow from an unlikely guy. Great series, good win tonight. I think we need to really take care of business in KC.

He doesn't need much range for those and that's why he still does them well. The announcers and ESPN embrace these plays because they look cool. They just don't show him running in place when trying to reach a pop up between he and Chris Getz.

He's been the worst right fielder in baseball the last 3 years according to Plus/Minus with a -72. He's made 72 below average plays. Only Pat Burrell has been worse in terms of outfielders and he plays left field. And according to UZR he has cost the Sox 7 runs this year in the field.
