BECKGAME THREADHAM: CLE @ CWS, 7:11pm WCIU
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 08:24 PM) His swing is just so ugly. Anderson and Fields are two prime examples of why Greg Walker is not a good hitting coach. Or you can look at the 8 shutouts this year and once again say that he's a s***ty hitting coach. And I'm sick and tired when people say that when we hit well, Walker doesn't get any praise. Really? Because when this team hits well, it hits to its talent level. When the entire team hits like s***, somebody's gotta be the problem. This team is talented offensively. Always has been. Even now, we have some good offensive players on this team in Ramirez, Thome, Konerko, and Dye. They can get it done. As long as 2-3 guys are getting it done in a lineup, this team can survive. The thing is, they're not even doing that right now.

Angels have a 2-run lead on Detroit going into the bottom of the ninth. Seriously, this team has had every chance to catch up to the Tigers and have failed miserably.

A.J. and Pods are the only guys hitting decently on this team right now. Everybody else blows.

Ozzie needs to throw a hissy fit and fast. None of these guys are motivated.

BECKGAME THREADHAM: CLE @ CWS, 7:11pm WCIU
QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 07:54 PM) Danks has no release point, hasn't had a release point or sound mechanics for that matter, for about 5-6 starts now That's on Cooper, that's his f***ing job to fix that And it's Greg Walker's job to fix the hitters' swings when they suck, is it not? We talk about hitting home runs and how we're nothing but a home run hitting team, yet we're not hitting them. Somebody's got to take the blame for that.

When you keep on leaving pitches up in the zone, that's what happens to you.

Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 10:15 AM) If Tyler Hansbrough were black, he'd be a top-5 pick. More like if Tyler Hansbrough had real talent, he'd be a top-5 pick.

Ozzie likes willingness to deal
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 07:39 AM) Baseball Digest thinks we explore picking up Vincente Padilla. I disagree. That's a lot of money for a guy whose main talent is hitting AJ Pierzsynski. http://baseballdigest.com/featured/2009/th...une-test-drive/ Are you kidding me? Everybody in the organization hates that guy and he hates us.

Gordon Beckham Called Up
When will somebody tell Ozzie his name isn't Bacon?
-
braves acquire nate mclouth
If the Sox played in the NL, McLouth would have been what this team needed. A good left handed bat that plays a good center field with good speed and can leadoff. Too bad he would suck in the AL, as shown by him getting shutdown by our pitching.

Dream come true for Whisler
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) That is a dream come true. The chance to play with Gordon Beckham. Lucky guy. Even Ozzie called Bacon dreamy. But of course, we all love bacon.

Gordon Beckham Called Up
QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 11:31 AM) From what I've read, Beckham was never projected to be on Longoria's level. That's not to say that he can't get there, but I don't want people to start calling him a bust here if he does go 4/31 with 12 K's. He doesn't have the same kind of power. I think he has the talent to become a Derek Jeter-esque player offensively. .300 AVG and a slugging near .500.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 11:18 AM) If the Sox had any nuts we'd currently have Porcello AND Beckham. And maybe even Joba... Instead we got McCullough....
