Latest Starter Linked to Sox in a Roundabout Way: Roy Oswalt
QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ May 30, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) Want a good laugh... I found this on an Astros Message Board. I was listining to mad dogg sports and they believe the White Sox would be a perfect fit for Oswalt. They Suggested Roy Oswalt J.R. Towles Miguel Tejada and Jason Micheals to the Sox for Clayton Richard Gordan Beckham Aaron Poreda Brandon allen Tyler Flowers and Dayan Viciedo. They believe the Sox would be willing to go that far for aquiring a Ace SP and some bat help with Quintan headed back to the DL. The Also mentioned that a Deal with the Rays could go down when Valverde comes off the DL. They believe the Astros could show case Valverde for a couple of games and try and Target Wade Davis and Tim Beckham. they didnt go into spacifics but they believe the Astros have gone restless after the Matsui experament. If the Astros could get these 2 trades done . They would have the Beckhams , Tim and Gordan up the middle whom both can hit and steal bases which would instantly improve the teams speed, Micheal Tim and Gordan for 220 total bases stolen would be fun to watch alot of pitchers make bad pitches when the the speed is on the bags. This is what happens when you meet baseball stupid people.

GameThread: White Sox(23-25) vs Royals(23-26) 1:10 CT, WGN
Is this game on WGN just because Greinke's pitching? Sunday games are usually on CSN. What's up with this?

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (zenryan @ May 30, 2009 -> 08:54 PM) Greinke is due for a bad outing, right? If you by bad outing, you mean 2 runs, 1 earned, in 8 innings right?

QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2009 -> 08:38 PM) It's amazing how much of a higher quality ABs we're getting with a certain person not in the lineup (I'm not talking about Quentin). Will the real Brian Anderson please stand up?

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I like this offense now. I'm going to like it while I can. It might start crapping out again later. Nice game by Mark. Made a bad pitch to Olivo that cost him another win. He should be 8-1 right now. Any kind of offensive production is gravy tomorrow. I don't expect us to win.

We got lucky there. Butler hit that hard. Bobby needs to get the curveball working.

Eating Some Crow!!!!!
Clayton showed this kind of stuff last year in a lot of his starts, he just didn't get passed the 5th inning in most of them. He's climbed that hurdle this year, which is great to see.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 30, 2009 -> 01:53 PM) I don't think it has been said in this thread, but most are of the opinion that Ozzie would eat Bedard for lunch. Ozzie likes his pitchers tough and fearless, not mushy like pudding. A Bedard with nagging injuries is worse than Bedard on the 60 day DL. He will annoy the hell out of you and make you use other pitchers in his place for spot-starts and screw up the entire rotation. He did that last year with Seattle. He's been healthier this year, but I still wouldn't take a chance on a guy like that.

Sox acquire Ramon Castro and cash for Lance Broadway
QUOTE (tommy @ May 29, 2009 -> 10:30 PM) I thought Castro is a plus defender behind the plate? According to Sportsnet.ca, he is. http://www2.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/players/Ramon_Castro/ Makes a lot of sense.
-
Does Contreras have any trade value?
No. He has less trade value than Brad Penny right now.
-
That would be a White Sox Winner
QUOTE (tommy @ May 29, 2009 -> 09:49 PM) It would be great to finally sweep someone, and this is a good start. Jose who? That's how you do it Clayton Richard!!! Offense More like Jake who?

We need to give a dedication thread to Corky. He scorched Liriano for us.

Sox acquire Ramon Castro and cash for Lance Broadway
QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ May 29, 2009 -> 10:25 PM) I found this on a Mets message board and lost it... I just want to learn more about Lance Broadway. He's been a legit prospect in the ChiSox system for a couple years, so I'm just wondering why they were willing to trade a legit starting pitching prospect for a starting-caliber but injury-prone catcher. lulz for realz.

Castro's a much better hitter than Corky. Don't know about defense though. Broadway had no future to begin with. What puzzles me is that the Yankees got Joba with the 41st pick that year. How do you pass on a guy who throws 98 MPH?
