  1. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 24, 2009 -> 02:16 PM) Brian Anderson is 6-9 when starting in RF. Hurray for small sample sizes!
  2. Put Getz back at leadoff again, seriously. He's been hitting like crap ever since he's been hitting second and now ninth. Might be because he's in a slump, but I'll take him over Pods at leadoff.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 24, 2009 -> 02:07 PM) Carlos looking a heck of a lot better today. Just missed it. I've heard that phrase too many times this year.
  4. BA with his first homer of the year.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2009 -> 01:29 PM) Nice 2 out double for CQ. Let's get him in! Like that'll happen... Nice to see Q finally get a hit.
  6. If Mark's going to be giving up cheap hits on good pitches, I'll take it. He only made one bad pitch to Hinske that inning.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 23, 2009 -> 11:26 PM) I'm real happy Bud Black pitched Heath Bell in a 4-0 game last night with 2 outs and made it so he couldn't use him tonight. Edward Mujica? WTF? I wanted Bell to get me some fantasy points.

QUOTE (Reddy @ May 24, 2009 -> 11:38 AM) why do people have such a crush on Cain? He's not that good in the NL let alone coming to the Cell... Because Cain is good...he just gets no run support.

QUOTE (That funky motion @ May 24, 2009 -> 11:06 AM) How about for Matt Cain Sabean is stupid. I would never do Cain for Dye if I were the Giants.
  10. You need to sweep. There is no excuse not to. We have our best pitcher on the mound and these guys haven't scored in 2 games.
  11. It was bound to happen sometime, he's just not a .300 hitter.
  12. I think the Padres just started licking their chops when they saw what Clayton did tonight. The Pirates is what the Padres usually face in the NL anyhow.
  13. QUOTE (Disco72 @ May 23, 2009 -> 08:42 PM) ...and two shutouts in a row! The pitching is on...let's go offense... get everyone back on track! (this means you Fields!...and you TCQ!) Why was Q taken out? It couldn't have been for defense. Q is a better left fielder than Pods, or at least I think so. Nice outing for Richard. Really impressed me with his velocity. I didn't know he can throw 6 innings and still bring it at 95. Alexei looks like he's back.
  14. QUOTE (G&T @ May 23, 2009 -> 03:45 PM) Boers was out sick and the Score called him last minute to fill in. I wouldn't be surprised if he were to get a deal. Let's face it, there are 4 awful hours between 10 and 2 that have to be filled. I just wish Hamp and Murph would go away... I'm cool with Lawrence. He and Jason should get a show.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 22, 2009 -> 11:11 PM) Congrats LeBron, haven't seen a buzzer beater like that in a long time. You mean you didn't watch that awesome three pointer Larry Hughes threw up earlier this season against the Jazz? Where the hell were you? lol
  16. Clayton Richard AKA Trade Bait. I like it. I hope he likes the fact that he was worth maybe 1/4 of Jake Peavy. Maybe he'll be 1/4 as good as Peavy today.
  17. Nice pass by Paulson. Much needed win.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2009 -> 09:10 PM) We musta won... Game thread under 100 posts Only natural to complain less when the team wins.
  19. Well that lead certainly didn't hold up.
  20. Floyd's ERA now down to 6, lowered it by a run and a half...nice. The National League is just what we needed. Now you see why Jake Peavy likes it in the interNational League.
  21. Did the Jake Peavy thing give a smack to Gavin's ass or what? Maybe he finally got the message... But then again, it could be that it's the Pirates.
  22. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 22, 2009 -> 01:25 PM) I love how everyone in the media is trying to make KW look foolish for trading for one of the top 5 pitchers in baseball. Heyman: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...ex.html?eref=T1 Verducci: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...ikes/index.html Looks like Heyman thinks the White Sox will lose today, he has us at 17-24...lol. He also messed up on his SI article when he said the Padres, not the White Sox, did not want to pick up the 2013 option.
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 30, 2009 -> 02:30 PM) Yes. He had 8 years where his ERA was below the league average (ERA+ of less than 100) and only 7 where he was a very good starting pitcher (ERA+ of 120+). He was a very good starting pitcher that pitched forever, but that doesn't mean he was an absolute stud. I'd also say that Bert Blyleven was a superior pitcher to Ryan. I agree with this. Nolan Ryan's just that guy who was really good but didn't go away when he should have.
  24. Take it slow. 2/3 is the least we should get. But I wouldn't be pissed if we did not sweep somehow.
  25. He's a right handed Erik Bedard in the AL. That being said, I would still say yes.
