  1. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 1, 2009 -> 01:08 PM) 53% say the bulls win in regulation or OT. I think the majority of the country is behind the Bulls in this series. They're tired of the Celtics and they're tired of Rondo. Plus, we're the underdogs. As for Rondo getting suspended, it's not happening. As much as it should, the NBA doesn't have the balls to do it. If this was any other team besides the Celtics, it probably would have happened. Rondo has been playing like he's playing street ball this series. Hack him hard when he goes inside, don't give him easy points. That doesn't mean you should punch him or slap him across the face, it just means you gotta teach him a lesson or two about coming inside. The guy isn't a great jump shooter, so all he has is the penetration game. On top of that, he's a bad free throw shooter. It's a win-win to foul this guy every chance you get when he goes to the basket, but you just gotta make sure he doesn't get any and-1s, that defeats the point of everything. And the best thing is, win Saturday and all the s*** we've been taking in this series in terms of officiating and bulls*** from the NBA is moot.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 1, 2009 -> 12:10 PM) Here's Simmons's article on that game. "Rondo hitting John Salmons with a chair" This would not surprise me.
  3. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 05:47 PM) Someone alert Carl Everett!!! Oh hell naw.
  4. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 05:44 PM) Interesting...because the main knock on him coming from the Phillies is that he wouldn't battle. He would get knocked around, which would rattle him, and down goes Floyd. He's only 26 and he's making progress. And, you do realize, he's the second/third starter on this team. Yes, he is improving. But that doesn't necessarily mean that his stats will improve since he was really fortunate last season. He got the run support and he got guys to hit the ball right at defenders last year. I think everybody wishes that his luck would continue, but it hasn't shown up yet this year.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 05:30 PM) You knew he was going to regress after 4 starts. I know that overreaction is the norm here, but get f***ing real people. Anderson should have his head chopped off because he failed in an at bat, but then he gets hurt and you want to try and rebuild him. Floyd is brutal because he puts up a quality start and now he has already regressed. Let the season play out, JFC. If you looked at his BABIP and some other sabermetric stats that I either don't know the name of or forgot, he was pretty lucky last year. What's even more intriguing is that he had about a 1 ERA in his first 8 starts and then a ERA near the mid 4s for the rest of the year. Gavin's still not there yet. As much as Ozzie wants to praise the guy, he's not a 20 game winner nor is he one of the best pitchers in league. He has the potential to be one, but his inability to find the curveball at his leisure is stopping him from becoming that kind of pitcher. When he doesn't have his stuff, he'll battle. But most of the time, the battle ain't pretty. I don't think he really had it today, but he battled and came out of it fine. Bottom line: Gavin Floyd, at this point, is a third starter on a lot of teams in baseball. The future is bright, but you're probably not going to see 17 wins and a 3.84 ERA out of him this year.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:23 PM) This. And if he hits the way he can, he may never go back down. I hope they do this instead of someone gay like PODS. So Pods got tired of his pornstar wife and decided that he should become a homosexual? Hmm...
  7. I think a lot of us knew Gavin was going to regress this year... I'm still not all that worried though. Hopefully, we get Getz back on Friday when we start the series in Texas. He's much better than Lillibridge, who is now getting exposed because he's getting more ABs.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) "Veteran presence" or whatever that means, I assume. I wouldn't want him there either, but he's probably less likely to take a stupid shot than Thomas, I will grant that. Believe it or not that was a great play drawn up by VDN. They caught the Celtics off-guard and would have gotten away with it if Miller didn't rush the shot... He saw people coming to smother him and he started driving from about the free throw line. He should have dunked that ball and gotten the and 1. That's something Tyrus Thomas could have done.
  9. Broadway sucks... He's only effective against the Royals. Although I don't know if that's the case anymore.
  10. ^Cubs fans got so pissed about that. xD
  11. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) That would be terrible. That's about the 1 WR I don't want with our 2nd round pick. I'd rather just wait and grab Ogletree, for example, in the 3rd. Futhermore, if they want a small WR, take Mike Wallace. lol Mike Wallace... Maybe he can also report Bears news throughout the year.
  12. Philly's actually putting up with Orlando. I guess they don't suck as much as I thought they did.
  13. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) I knew it was bulls*** because Ozzie would put Jerry in center and stick Brian in left. xD lulz
  14. Can this day get any s***tier? The question is...can God get hurt?
  15. *Sigh What a bad night it has been.
  16. Ben's nothing but a shooter. He doesn't do much of anything else. I won't be too sad to see him go. Salmons can be just as good of a scorer as him and provides better defense. You just have to pray that Luol Deng comes back to 2006-2007 form and put him at SF.
  17. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 07:12 AM) While that is true, the big difference is Chicago only has one hockey team. Remember how Fukudome made the STARTING team last year?? As pathetic as that was, we all know that the Sox don't have as strong of a following, so getting TCQ into the starting lineup will also heavily rely upon fans voting outside of Chicago. Maybe we should start the TCQ is God campaign. Slogan should be: Do it or it's blasphemy.
  18. I hate all-star voting period. If you're going to make the game mean something, don't let stupid fans be biased and choose nothing but players on their own damn team. Did Fukudome really deserve an ASG start last year? Did Jeter? Did Ichiro? At least fans don't get to pick the pitchers. That would be even worse.
  19. This thread = lol. You should question Josh some more in the middle of games. Like his fielding and his strike out rate. Maybe those will go away as well.
  20. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) Noah and Miller were worthless. Noah more so. He can't put back missed jumpers from blank range. And when he sees it rattling out, he's staring at it while the Celtics big men box him out. Absof***inglutely ridiculous. That missed rebound with about 30 seconds left was the game. They let Perkins tip it. Ugh, I'm sitting here thinking what it could have been had we gotten that board.
  21. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 08:48 PM) Well that sucked, but I feel supremely confident the Bulls win this series. Boston can barely win in Boston, how can they expect to take a game in Chicago? Don't look now, but Ray Allen's found his shot again.
  22. Where the f*** were the rebounds and box outs? They let Davis and Perkins kill them with offensive boards. This is such bulls***. Gordon finally got a good game and we waste it. UGH.
  23. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 11:01 AM) He's the best pitcher on this staff. I still think that Danks is better. He just needs to throw less pitches and pitch deeper into games.
  24. I thought that Miami series might be really close. From the looks of game 1, it might not be.
  25. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 08:31 PM) Quentin=God=Chuck(in your world) So he was saying Thank God we didnt draft Beasley Stupid me. I thought that trend wasn't going on here in this thread. I guess I was wrong. My bad for being too literal.
