Official 2008-2009 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2009 -> 04:38 PM) "Veteran presence" or whatever that means, I assume. I wouldn't want him there either, but he's probably less likely to take a stupid shot than Thomas, I will grant that. Believe it or not that was a great play drawn up by VDN. They caught the Celtics off-guard and would have gotten away with it if Miller didn't rush the shot... He saw people coming to smother him and he started driving from about the free throw line. He should have dunked that ball and gotten the and 1. That's something Tyrus Thomas could have done.

Egbert optioned to AAA Charlotte
Broadway sucks... He's only effective against the Royals. Although I don't know if that's the case anymore.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 25, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) That would be terrible. That's about the 1 WR I don't want with our 2nd round pick. I'd rather just wait and grab Ogletree, for example, in the 3rd. Futhermore, if they want a small WR, take Mike Wallace. lol Mike Wallace... Maybe he can also report Bears news throughout the year.

Philly's actually putting up with Orlando. I guess they don't suck as much as I thought they did.

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) I knew it was bulls*** because Ozzie would put Jerry in center and stick Brian in left. xD lulz

Bulls To Let Ben Gordon Go?
Ben's nothing but a shooter. He doesn't do much of anything else. I won't be too sad to see him go. Salmons can be just as good of a scorer as him and provides better defense. You just have to pray that Luol Deng comes back to 2006-2007 form and put him at SF.

All Star Ballots are now up - mlb.com
QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Apr 23, 2009 -> 07:12 AM) While that is true, the big difference is Chicago only has one hockey team. Remember how Fukudome made the STARTING team last year?? As pathetic as that was, we all know that the Sox don't have as strong of a following, so getting TCQ into the starting lineup will also heavily rely upon fans voting outside of Chicago. Maybe we should start the TCQ is God campaign. Slogan should be: Do it or it's blasphemy.

I hate all-star voting period. If you're going to make the game mean something, don't let stupid fans be biased and choose nothing but players on their own damn team. Did Fukudome really deserve an ASG start last year? Did Jeter? Did Ichiro? At least fans don't get to pick the pitchers. That would be even worse.

Are you concerned with Fields' power?
This thread = lol. You should question Josh some more in the middle of games. Like his fielding and his strike out rate. Maybe those will go away as well.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) Noah and Miller were worthless. Noah more so. He can't put back missed jumpers from blank range. And when he sees it rattling out, he's staring at it while the Celtics big men box him out. Absof***inglutely ridiculous. That missed rebound with about 30 seconds left was the game. They let Perkins tip it. Ugh, I'm sitting here thinking what it could have been had we gotten that board.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 08:48 PM) Well that sucked, but I feel supremely confident the Bulls win this series. Boston can barely win in Boston, how can they expect to take a game in Chicago? Don't look now, but Ray Allen's found his shot again.

Where the f*** were the rebounds and box outs? They let Davis and Perkins kill them with offensive boards. This is such bulls***. Gordon finally got a good game and we waste it. UGH.

Interesting Oz quote about Gavin Floyd
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 20, 2009 -> 11:01 AM) He's the best pitcher on this staff. I still think that Danks is better. He just needs to throw less pitches and pitch deeper into games.

I thought that Miami series might be really close. From the looks of game 1, it might not be.

MLB Discipline for pitchers a joke
He doesn't get paid during the suspension, so at least that's something. Milton Bradley's appealing his two game suspension when he can't even play. I personally think he might be doing it so he doesn't lose the two day paycheck (which is probably somewhere around $10,000).

Are We Looking to Trade for a CF'er?
QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 06:39 PM) Anderson usually hits the ball with authority, it's making contact that's been the problem. There is no way his walk rate is going to stay this high, but if anything it means he's looking comfortable at the plate and seeing decent at-bats. I'm not going to put the cart before the horse, I'm still not confident in his swing and it'll take several more weeks before we can see where he's really at. It also means that he's not swinging at junk all the time anymore. If pitchers start laying it in there early in the count, Brian should be smart enough to adjust and crush some pitches.

That's A White Sox Winner!
QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 06:49 PM) I gotta tip my hat to Lillibridge. Had a very rough ST and beginning of the season...but you have to admit having him in the lineup (double good with Getz) has really sparked the offense. I'm hoping this is a wakeup call to Lexi to get his head outta his ass soon. And if BA starts to really struggle...I'd have no problem with Lilli in CF. Lil' Bridge is Ozzie's type of player (fast, good defense, good base running ability, tries really hard, can't really hit all that well). If BA ever struggles, you already know who's gonna get the call.

QUOTE (WCSox @ Apr 19, 2009 -> 06:48 PM) M-V-P! M-V-P! I said this myself on Facebook the other day. Of course, that is if he doesn't have any stupid injuries.
