  1. They've played the toughest schedule in baseball and are only 3.5 games worse than us. I wouldn't be surprised if they give us some trouble. It's not like we've played well against under. 500 teams at home recently.
  2. He just got to the stadium at 3. Blame the traveling secretary.
  3. Abreu is also 7 or 8 years older than most of the core of this team. And yet, he somehow still plays through pain. I'm not sure if that's just the greatness of Jose or an indictment against the rest of core.
  4. Sheets is a little faster but has no instincts at all in the OF. His routes suck and his jumps suck. Vaughn is slow and his jumps suck, but he takes good routes. Which is why you think he passes the eye test. That and he's mostly sure handed if he gets to the ball. Never forget the Cleveland announcer said, "you gotta be shitting me" when Sheets dropped a routine fly ball in RF.
  5. I can already see Tony's line of thinking here. Because Burger can't DH with Abreu nursing his hip injury, he has to play 3B. Because Harrison's been good recently, he has to play 2B. So in Tony's mind the rookie that the team just called up shouldn't play.
  6. Vaughn in RF: -1 OAA, -4 DRS, -34.7 UZR/150 in 130 innings Sheets in RF: -2 OAA, -4 DRS, -40.1 UZR/150 in 124 innings It's kind of pick your poison really. I guess Vaughn is marginally better and doesn't straight up drop routine pop flies that Sheets did.
  7. Robert not in the lineup today, so I guess he actually did get hurt yesterday.
  8. Williams is a plug and play defender, but he's probably about as useful as Tony Bradley is offensively in a half court set right now. Gobert, with all his faults in his offensive game, is at least good in pick and roll and can get you offensive boards. It's why he's been considered a neutral value offensive player all these years despite him being an old school NBA center.
  9. Yeah this is awful for him. He was finally figuring it out at the plate this year and this happens. Just a career altering injury for him.
  10. What would that trade even look like? KD for DeRozan, Vucevic, and all the draft picks we can give?
  11. Why didn't they just put on him on the 60 day?
  12. That's like a guarantee for any top White Sox prospect at this point.
  13. Honestly, I don't see how we can beat Atlanta in a deal for Gobert if they're willing to give up both Capella and Collins. A Gobert and Young pairing would make Atlanta a pretty damn good team since their defense is their biggest weakness and they have a lot of perimeter shooting. So they don't need to worry about spacing quite as much with Gobert in their lineup. If Atlanta doesn't see it that way, I can see how there might not be a ton of good suitors for Gobert and his contract. I'd have to think Williams would be involved. But I think if the Bulls are willing to wait it out, they can probably get him for Vuc, Coby, Green, and some combination of the 18th or Portland pick. Portland picking up Jerami Grant for almost nothing probably means the pick conveys in the next 2 years.
  14. Remember when the Pistons wanted Patrick Williams for Grant? That pick is only top 4 protected, but Milwaukee's probably still gonna be a playoff team the next 2 years, so it's probably not even a lottery pick.
  15. The fact that Tony brought that up specifically tells me it was more about discipline than anything else.
  16. I'm gonna say that this was his discipline for not hustling.
  17. And they didn't bother to even have him out there for the 8th when the bases were loaded.
  18. Only 1 off day until the ASB too.
  19. 108 off the bat right back at him. Yikes.
  20. Jose almost broke Mayza's arm.
  21. Vaughn hitting .333 with a .887 OPS.
  22. Vaughn with 2 singles off the wall
  23. Tanner Banks is getting really good at giving up the long fly out at the track.
  24. Let's be honest, TA would probably ground out to SS in this spot.
