GT 6/13 White Sox V Tigers 6:10 Chgo Time - Bastard Time
The Tigers might be ass, but they've also had some of the worst injury luck imaginable. Hinch also vastly overperformed the talent of the team last year despite a horrible start.

Lynn missing location a lot this inning. I think he's at the end of the rope here.

This team just can't catch a break.

He has a great 3 year track record. I'm sure that'll matter more to teams than a few bad starts after getting COVID.

That makes a lot of sense. I bet he wasn't happy he gave up the first ML hit to a guy who was 0-17.

If you can get Bobby MIller for Giolito you absolutely do it.

If he develops that slurve that they teach their guys...watch out. They basically revived Andrew Heaney before his elbow got hurt.

Things are about to reach the boiling point with this team.

I think Lynn was pissed about the positioning against Barnhardt.

Lynn pissed off at McEwing for something.

Yoan really on his way to hitting .100. It's actually impressive.

It's a feedback loop of bad decisions.

Hard for a fat guy to lose weight when you can't run.

Lynn's stuff got better as the inning went on. 93-94 on the fastball at the end.

GT 6/13 White Sox V Tigers 6:10 Chgo Time - Bastard Time
His stuff is not where it needs to be right now. He probably gets away with some of these bad pitches when he's throwing 93+. But at 91, even minor league hitters were pissing all over it.

Lynn looks like he's not ready to pitch to Major League hitters.

Katz? Yes or No?
Cease has gotten much better under Katz. Kopech has developed pretty well too. Keuchel was already on the way to sucking and the sticky stuff ban made it worse. The bullpen has been overworked and injured. Every game this team has a chance to win is a close game and eventually your bullpen just can't handle that kind of work load.

Leury Garcia - Tony La Russa and Rick Hahn and beyond....
I'm sure TLR had some influence in Leury re-signing, but let's not give Hahn the benefit of the doubt for being stupid. Just go look at his veteran signings to see the definition of stupid.

Too soon to panic
Also let's not pretend a fully healthy club is anything special. The fully healthy Sox were basically a .500 team in the 2nd half of last year. The 2021 team had a really good May and good June to push them into the 15 over .500 range and just lived off that success the rest of the year cause the division was ass. This team needs to play with everyone clicking to get out of this hole they're in. I really don't see that happening with how often guys get injured and just how bad of a slump some of them are in. They need to rattle off like a 10 game win streak to get back into this race.

I am old enough to remember…
I am old enough to remember that TLR constantly allows his starters to die on the hill when they clearly have nothing left in the tank.

TLR 2022 Thread
They actually won that game, but walking Pujols almost resulted in Jose Iglesias hitting a go-ahead double off Liam Hendriks. IIRC, Tony wanted to walk Pujols because it would allow him to bring in Hendriks since Marshall had not yet faced 3 batters. Pujols was the 3rd batter, so that allowed him to bring in Hendriks to face the next hitter. It worked out, but barely.
