Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
- Michael Conforto: His POV and the Wait
Yeah his ERA was in the high 3s, but his peripherals were terrible.- 3/26 | Angels vs White Sox | 3:05PM CT | NBCS Chicago / ESPN1000
So much for Katz fixing Velasquez.- Michael Conforto: His POV and the Wait
It's definitely no longer on the table.- Michael Conforto: His POV and the Wait
What's sad is that had both of them judged the market correctly, Conforto might have signed here.- Michael Conforto: His POV and the Wait
Well at least Hahn and Conforto have one thing in common- Jake Burger is actually pretty interesting
I think we might be able to stomach Burger at 2B if he showed he can hit ML off-speed and breaking pitches just a little bit. Because he did not hit them well in his short time here last year. I don't think he even made contact with a single curveball or change up.- Jake Burger is actually pretty interesting
I like to compare Burger to a train. He's fast, but if you want him to turn, good luck. Eloy is kind of the same way. The guy looks so stiff when he runs and that's probably a product of his multiple Achilles injuries. But he just doesn't look like he has the agility and quickness to play 2B.- Michael Conforto: His POV and the Wait
I think because he declined the QO, it's possible. If Conforto signs with the Mets, it would have to be a regular 1 year deal.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
His struggles last year and his decline in power were kinda similar to how Yoan's 2020 went. COVID definitely played a role in him starting out so poorly last year.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I need this video, but with Matt Harvey's face over Batman's.- Michael Conforto: His POV and the Wait
I just find it really funny that we have both Keuchel and Kimbrel on this team now. Maybe it's a sign that we'll also sign Conforto in July.- Michael Conforto: His POV and the Wait
Maybe it'll be different with hitters, but both Kimbrel and Keuchel struggled after they signed with teams in June to avoid the QO. If Conforto has to get a prove-it 1 year deal in mid July, it's probably not going to be good for his FA prospects in 2023. That makes me think he'll be looking for multiple years if he signs in July.- 2022 Soccer Thread
That just means Italy will win Euro 2024 lol- 21/22 NCAA Basketball Thread
Kenpom taking victory laps again after Houston takes down Arizona. Once again, Illinois got paired with a very under-seeded team. I was pissed when I saw the draw. I'm not saying this Illini team would have won anything, I'm just salty the committee has to constantly give this team bad matchups against under-seeded teams as a 1 seed and then a 4 seed.- 2022 Soccer Thread
Win against Panama in Orlando and they'll at least get to the intercontinental playoff. 4 points from these next 2 games guarantees the US an automatic spot.- 2022 Soccer Thread
Wow Vega just got a yellow for a dive.- 2022 Soccer Thread
US had so many good chances this game. Just could not finish. Now Berhalter is playing for a draw with 10 minutes left. Oh and Gio Reyna probably had the best dribbling sequence I've ever seen from a US player. That was Messi-esque. This US team clearly has a lot of talent up front, but I just don't think they play well as a team.- 2021-22 NBA Thread
I actually don't remember the last time the Bulls won a road game. They're destined for the play-in at this point.- 2021-22 NBA Thread
Bulls getting clowned by Jose Alvarado lmao- 2021-22 NBA Thread
LaVine looking healthy for the first time in a long time. Playing defense and dunking today.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
It was $155 million last year.- 3/24 ST Game: Giants vs White Sox, 3:05 PM CST
Isn't that part of growing pains for any young ML player?- Arb cases happening today
The Sox were basically willing to give Lucas $45 million for 2024 and 2025, but that would buy 2 of his prime years at age 29 and 30. If he doesn't take the deal, he hits free agency at 29 and can probably swing a 5-6 year deal for $120 million+. That's assuming he's healthy the whole time. If he takes the deal and hits free agency at age 31, will he be able to get a 3-4 year deal for $80+ million? I think it's a lot more likely that he pitches well through his age 29 season and gets that 100 million+ deal than for him to pitch well until age 31 just to get a shorter deal.- Arb cases happening today
If they were willing to give him 4 years and $50 million, they must have put that option in the $20 million range. The structure probably went something like $5 million, $10 million, $15 million, $20 million and a $20 million team option. - Michael Conforto: His POV and the Wait
