GT 6/16 Sox @ Yankees 6:05 (CDT)
Davis Martin really got done in by J.C. Escarra tonight... Just one of those games I guess.

Yeah I'm not gonna fault him. He's a SS playing 1B out of necessity. And he probably won't be playing there much longer anyways.

I think the contact rule only matters if the catch is actually made cleanly. If he the ball is still rolling around the glove, I don't think it counts.

Gonzalez had been doing exactly what he did on Volpe's grounder in the Dodgers series. He's pretty good at picking it at 1B, but he really sucks at actually covering first when he needs to. Typical rookie stuff.

Yeah but all his peripherals and expected stats are still good. There's bound to be some regression, but let's not act like he's 2024 Erick Fedde or 2025 Adrian Houser.

Martin having one of those outings where he's just not super sharp.

Ump has a pretty big zone. That last one probably wasn't a strike.

Jones' batting stance looks like a combination of Judge and Ohtani.

I would love for the Sox to mimic that 2000 team and sweep the Yankees in NY. That series started on June 15th, 2000. So almost exactly 26 years ago.

Can you predict a no hitter the rest of the way so we just never get out?

2026 Old Sock Drawer
Yoendrys Gomez seems to be the de facto closer for the Twins now. He's 7/7 in saves so far and has some really good numbers since going to the Twins. I noticed he looked pretty good against us the few times he did pitch. Not sure if it's a sample size thing or the Twins fixed something. He did pretty well in a few starts last year for us before falling apart.

At what point do we start to believe?
Tristan Peters is 4th among CFers in the AL, even though I don't think he qualifies yet based on his # of PAs.
-
At what point do we start to believe?
FanGraphs has us 7th in their power rankings, in the solid contenders tier (despite their system giving us a 31% chance at the postseason).

At what point do we start to believe?
We're somehow 6th in the mlb.com power rankings.

6/14 GT Sox vs. Dodgers 1:10 (CDT)
I knew my eyes don't deceive me... Dominguez throws 15.3% of his pitches in the waste zones. These are considered uncompetitive pitches. Among pitchers who have thrown at least 300 pitches, that is the 11th worst in all of baseball. Dominguez was actually the 7th worst in all of baseball last year at 13.1%. So he has been worse at it this year, but I guess he's always been like this.

Dominguez makes Alex Colome look like Mariano Rivera. Colome at least threw strikes lol.

It's Chris Murphy, so it's not like he's any better. He's basically a worse lefty version of Dominguez.

6/14 GT Sox vs. Dodgers 1:10 (CDT)
Dominguez seems to have 4-5 good outings and then just implode.

Seems like that's the plan. Nothing even close.

He just could not get Freeland out with his fastball.
