  1. I swear he tight roped out of jams last year like Colome against us every time. I remember we had the bases loaded nobody out against him in Seattle and he got out of it with no damage cause of some double play liner right at someone. Then Jake Lamb nearly walked him off in Chicago until Taylor Trammel made a crazy play in CF. He also allowed quite a few base runners against us in the ALDS and gave up the only run we had in game 1. Maybe we just hit him well, but I was seriously not impressed from what I saw last year.
  2. We definitely overpaid for Kelly.
  3. You'd think we would have learned after Scott Linebrink and Kelvin Hererra.
  4. Calling it now: we're not gonna sign any outfielders.
  5. They gave $80 million to a guy coming off a 0.6 fWAR season in Keuchel. There is a chance Conforto does bomb, but given his history, I don't think it's all that likely. At the very least, he seems like an average MLB starter.
  6. McHugh at 5 million a year is a bargain. He could have easily taken over the Kopech multi-inning role.
  7. Especially considering he's not even fully healthy right now.
  8. McHugh can pitch multiple innings too. I prefer him over Kelly too.

  10. He was definitely Ruth against us.
  11. It's $4 million, but if they buy him out it's $5.5 million. It counts as $5.5 million to the CBT since the $1.5 million is considered guaranteed money.
  12. If the Sox really believe in Colas, an opt-out for Conforto is beneficial to both parties.
  13. Manaea should cost considerably less than Montas. Montas probably costs a top 100 prospect, something we don't have.
  14. In the case of Grandal, setting the market probably avoided us spending that money on someone like Moustakas. IIRC, the Reds were after Grandal too and pivoted to Moustakas after we signed Grandal.
  15. Montas is better than Manaea.
  16. The problem with this is that Semien got a 7 year contract.
  17. They'll keep him before buying him out.
  18. Wow...they really didn't want to keep Freeman. This deal goes until Olson is 35. Freeman wanting that 6th year would have put him at 37 at the end of his deal.
  19. Way too low. I think he's gonna get 100+ million easily.
  20. At this point it's probably Joc/Rosario or nothing.
  21. You might get your wish considering McCutchen just signed with Milwaukee. Maybe some of the mid and low tier OF FAs will start signing.
  22. It always was. The guy has very little surplus value cause he's getting paid $16 million. The reliever market was also pretty loaded this off-season.
  23. I don't see how he could. Right now he's part of the right handed platoon at DH.
