Yeah this is the biggest issue. Everyone's trying to get a 3 win closer like Kimbrel. He has no real surplus value if you only care about money. But the teams after him kind of don't, they're after wins. If money and surplus was all teams cared about, a Burger+ for Kimbrel swap would be pretty fair. But his market is probably way beyond that right now.

I should say that they got way more value than the Nationals did for one player than the Nationals did for 2. If the Nationals got Gray and Ruiz for just Turner, I probably wouldn't be saying this. But the fact that they also got Scherzer, even if he's a rental, makes this deal look so much worse for the Nats.
