I realize more control gets them better prospects, but they clearly like Mancini for his leadership and public image coming back from cancer. Them having this much control also means this isn't the last chance for them to get something for them, unlike a rental. I don't think they're desperate to trade them, meaning we'd probably have to overpay to get someone like Mancini, who while good, is not a perfect fit on this team.

Why are we so in love with Mancini? Does the FO really think he can play RF effectively? Also the Orioles have no good reason/incentive to move these guys. They are all under control for the next 1-3 years.

I think the Nationals selling everything off caught some people off guard. They struggled a lot this past week to completely take them out of the NL East race. Rizzo was saying they might not sell as recently as a week ago. Then the COVID thing hit them and they're trading just about everyone who isn't under control for more than 2 years.
