QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:24 PM) Ok so who is the favorite? The Bulls? Hold on while I go laugh uncontrollably for the next 10 minutes Laugh all you want, the vacuum created by the Heat's demise will put the Bulls with a healthy Rose, Pacers, Wizards and Raptors in position to take the East before the Cavs get their s*** down and dominate the rest of the decade. I can't believe you guys think LeBron can lead a bunch of young guys who've never even been in the playoffs and now they're supposed to be favorites. It'll take them a year or two, and that's going with the premise that their new coach, who's never coached in the NBA, can actually coach on this level. I can't believe you guys can't see the question marks.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:07 PM) lol@all of this. LeBron/Love+Irving would be like Garnett/Allen+Pierce in '08. They'd be devastating offensively. Defensively there would be some question marks (have to see what the roster would like around them). But defensive schemes have become so good that you can cover up multiple weaknesses in that area. No east team outside of maybe Toronto would have a legit chance of beating them. We disagree. Learning to play together just doesn't happen right away, especially one so young so as these Cavs. And as you mentioned, the roster the Cavs are building look defensively challenged.

QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:03 PM) Yeah right, LeBron was getting the Cavs to the finals with absolute garbage round him. If he has Love/Wiggins, Kyrie, and what other veterens follow theyll come out of the east no problem. We'll agree to disagree, LeBron had a team that was pretty good defensively, you're asking too much of youngsters like Wiggins, Kyrie, Bennett etc to become good defensively right away. It takes time to develope. Unless the Cavs completely change their roster, they'll be a young team that'll need to play together a while to start getting close to their potential. Also, who knows how that coach they hired turns out. Sorry, I just can't see them as automatic contenders.

I couldn't care less about Anthony at this point, he was always stayng in NY and it was always about dat money. I'm much more interested in where James ends up. Things are looking like he's going back to Cleveland which gives us a year or two max window in the East to get to the Finals. I honestly believe LeBron in the Cavs and even with Love, they aren't making the Finals right away, it takes some time to mesh and they have alot of youngsters who've never even gotten to the playoffs. I can't believe some of you guys think they're instant contenders, even with Love. Don't get me wrong, they'll be good but their youth, they'll need to mature. I think in 2 or more likely 3 years, they should be killing the East.

Third time against each other in the Final, Argentina won in 86, Germany in 90. My head tells me Germany, my heart wants Argentina. Argentina 2 Germany 1 in extra time.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 06:07 PM) Are we still taking the NY Daily News report as fact? I never cited the NYDN. I base it off things I've read about Melo, dude just isn't the type of player that'll do anything for a title.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 03:18 PM) He had to make it seem legit that he was looking to leave to force the Knicks to offer the max. We have a winner. I been saying all along, I never believed for one second that Anthony was going to leave NY. It ALWAYS was about the money.

Yes!

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 05:22 PM) Why would they do that in a game that seems headed for PK? Great question. I think Holland have better PKers, every kick vs Costa Rica was unstoppable. I hope I'm wrong, for my wife and her family's sake lol
-
Good, Holland used up their last sub
-
Damn, Argentina should try their hardest in deciding the game before PKs, Krull is a PK stopper.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 01:30 PM) Well, couldn't he announce Bulls just like LeBron did with the Heat? Dan Gilbert swore up and down he'd never let LeBron get his money by participating in a sign-and-trade. LeBron announced Miami, then Cleveland did the deal (because you gotta get something). If Carmelo wants to be signed-and-traded to the Bulls, then he'd just announce he's chosen the Bulls. Then the deal gets made. Of COURSE the Knicks would take Boozer to get a couple of 1sts and Mirotic. It'd make no sense not to. So, if he really wanted to come to Chicago, which I'm growing increasingly doubtful, he could just so easily announce it and still know he's getting paid. Melo is staying in NY

According to a basketball forum I frequent, LeBron to Cleveland is a done deal, word is he already informed Wade and got his 'blessing'. The anouncement could come as early as today but no later than Friday...hmmmmmm.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 04:58 PM) How are they going to do that when they lose to the Netherlands? Mexico was minutes from beating them. It took them PKs to get past Costa Rica. Argentina is better than Mexico and Costa Rica.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 04:44 PM) Not a chance. Never say never, Germany looks awesome but Argentina has the talent to give them a battle.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 03:48 PM) Warning: The Borowitz Report is satire You mean it's not true?!? Damn!
-
The Brazilians quit after they were down 2-0, absolutely no resistence on defense. Clearly, Germany is better than Brazil but not at a 7-0 superiority. Hopefully the Germans shoot their wad today and Argentina takes it.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 03:30 PM) My kinsmen running those dirty south americans off the field Nice

LeBron to soon anounce his decision...

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 02:56 PM) Lebron and his pr people aren't completely brain dead like they were in 2010. If he wasn't seriously considering the Cavs, that would get squashed as soon as possible. I agree with this. There's gotta be something behind the rumors and the fact that Gilbert had his letter taken down from the Cavs website is telling.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 04:31 PM) I don't really find that all that crazy of a move. I guess it's a combination of me not thinking much about Love and my belief that Wiggins is the real deal.
-
Would the Cavs be crazy enough to trade Wiggins for Love?
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 02:11 PM) LOL. Josh McRoberts? For real? That's their big move? LOLOLOLOLOLOL McRoberts is a decent player, but if I'm LeBron, he doesn't convince me of anything. Danny Granger, too Lol

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 10:19 AM) After seeing Lebron shut down Rose a few years back I think it's possible he could play the 2. Lol, Kawhi Leonard styled on him. The guy LeBron covered in the Finals got FMVP. LeBron's defense is insanely overrated. Melo and LBJ make no sense at. Miami is gonna let their only legit big walk to bring in another SF? One of the two would have to move over to PF, LeBron being the more viable option, that would mean he's going to have to bang with big bodies night in and night out (read a ZLowe article that LeBron himself admits he doesn't like doing that) grab the defensive rebounds instead of being out on the perimeter and getting easy fastbreak opportunities. You can put Melo at PF but he's also come out saying he doesn't like physical play too much either. Anthony is also prone to giving up great low post position to his opponent. Melo and LeBron is a turrible idea imo.

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 01:05 PM) Where would Rondo play in Minnesota? At PG, Rondo > Bricky Scrubio. I also want to get this off my chest with all the latest reports of whether Rose recruited Melo or not...I'm I the only guy who actually respects Rose for wanting to beat other elite players instead of trying to create a superfriends team? I guess I'm old school but MJ never tried to recruit his friends Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing to play on the same team. That team would have won every year. I loved the fact that Magic, Bird, MJ, 'Nique, Isiah Thomas, Sir Charles, Karl Malone etc wanted to beat each other, not join forces. It's this new NBA culture of trying to create a stacked team so it won't be as hard to win, LeBron left a back to back 60 win Cavs team because he decided it was too hard. MJ didn't leave the Bulls after they kept losing year after year vs Detroit. It made him that much more determined. I love Rose' old school attitude because that's what it is. He just needs to stay healthy, that's out of his control though. This Bulls team with a healthy Rose is a contender, we still need a scoring wing but the Mavs and the Spurs showed us you don't need a top heavy team to win. In b4 Melo decides to stay in NY, screw him.
