  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 12:06 PM) Bulls apparently tried at one point to trade up for their 2nd round pick, Bairstow. Also reports that other teams tried to buy him from the Bulls with some pretty significant offers. I think he's got a chance to be one of those 2nd round picks who makes it. I think a lot of people slept on him because he was a late bloomber at a less prime time school. Guy put in a lot of work (went from 210 to 240) and seems to have an NBA body as well as some nifty moves around the basket. Also supposedly a very PHYSICAL player which goes into our style. Seems like a Thibbs type pick. Not expecting a lot of minutes from him but think he's got a chance to be a solid rotational player in time. The Spurs would make him into a contributing player on a title team
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 11:31 AM) I don't even think it is illegal for Riley to tell Wade (who was under contract) what his current plans were and the fact that the club was working on making a push. Wade could have came and said all kinds of stuff and probably still wouldn't have been illegal. Wade acted in his own interest based upon information available to him. Presuming no contract figures were discussed / passed along, it was presumably completely legal. Not sure what is wrong with that. In this case, this would be FO and players (all under contract) coluding to opt out and take less money on prearranged deals. Much different scenario, imo, and very much illegal per the terms of the CBA. I'm no expert on the CBA but I thought you couldn't talk to another player (LeBeta) who was under contract with another team? Isn't that tampering?
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 11:29 AM) But we are all angry about it and claim it was unfair. If the league isn't going to do anything about that, then we'd be dumbasses if we don't do it.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 11:21 AM) Players are allowed to do what they want. Front offices are not. There is a clear distinction there. Welcome to the NBA. I have a hard time believing Riley wasn't aware of Wade colluding with LeBron and Bosh.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 11:18 AM) Meanwhile we are all cheering on Noah to collude. The Heat did this and nothing happened to them.
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 10:28 AM) Everyone gets posterized. Hell, it happened to me in intramurals in Carbondale. Lol I know that, all I'm saying is the word poster gets thrown around too much, in my day, what Pippen did to Ewing was a poster. Nowadays, if you flash by a dunker and are almost within camera view, that's a 'poster'... Just had to get that off my chest, back to the subject at hand.
  7. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 08:36 AM) <!--quoteo(post=3009202:date=Jul 1, 2014 -> 08:32 AM:name=Buehrle>Wood)-->QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 1, 2014 -> 08:32 AM) <!--quotec-->I wonder if Carmelo knows who Taj Gibson is. That's hardly a poster on Taj, what a reach...I guess defensive players should just run the opposite way lest they get 'posterized'.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 07:10 PM) The salary cap crunches have basically said with LBJ wanting near max money, there was no way Lowry would be able to go to Miami. Even with him taking a discount, it would be unlikely without it being a significant discount. LBJ is going to eat into a lot of their flexibility if he truly takes more money. Lol, I read somewhere that LeBron is just trolling teams into thinking they can obtain his services so they have to gut their rosters to create max cap space, then he'll quickly re-sign with the Heat at a huge discount so they can pick up the best players that were let go...I know that scenario is highly unlikely but I thought that was funny.
  9. I saw on another basketball forum that Kyle Lowry, one of the Heat's top of their wish list guys, has reportedly agreed to stay in Toronto. That's great news for the EC.
  10. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) I'm gonna keep my original prediction of a final of Germany v Netherlands. There's no way it's going to be an all European Final, IMO. European powers have been struggling with American teams, and not even against the best teams. I think a Brasil Argentina Final is more likely.
  11. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 02:01 PM) Pau Gasol is said to be visiting the Bulls....Not sure what to think of this....I suppose if they have to trade Taj for Melo he'd make some sense.. No thanks
  12. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 01:28 PM) http://thechicagohomer.com/2014/06/30/derr...-chicago-bulls/ Rose finally made the call.
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 30, 2014 -> 08:21 AM) KLM under fire for tweet celebrating Netherlands win over Mexico http://i.cbc.ca/1.2691451.1404079844!/...dios-amigos.jpg That's it, never gonna fly with them
  14. Talking about last minute goals, all three CONCACAF teams have given up very late game goals, the US vs Portugal, Mexico against Holland and CR vs Greece...dat concentration
  15. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 04:52 PM) It doesn't matter how good the other team is, going from from up 1-0 in the 88th minute to still losing in regulation is choking. On a BS flop by Robben Anyways, a late goal on CR, let's go Ticos!
  16. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 01:11 PM) dont be mad, you can go ahead and claim you really dont care about soccer like you did in the past when Mexico was struggling in qualifiers but only to keep showing up in these threads. and go ahead and start throwing that choke word around, even i wont argue about applying it now. Soccer is my fifth favorite sport, I don't follow league play that much, I know in general what going on but I don't even have a fave team. I tune in to WCs, Copa America and such but the Bears losing in the playoffs hits me harder than Mexico losing in the WC. Anyways, I have no idea why you're being a dick, Mexico didn't choke, in the end they gave up the initiative to a world class team and you can't do that. Laugh all you want right now, I'll have the last laugh, especially if you lose to a crap Belgium team.
  17. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 01:02 PM) They didn't send that many men forward. I know you want to avoid counter attacks but still, they need a 2nd goal before you goal full blown turtle. I wrote that Mexico should've kept attacking. Holland went foward but Mexico didn't try and control the ball, they just went to full defensive mode with way too much time. They had this game but didn't go for the kill, this game was winnable. The Robben penalty was a flop but the ref didn't call the clear one near the end of the first half. Anyways, it was a nice showing considering Mexico looked like crap in the CONCACAF tourney.
  18. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 01:04 PM) Has a team ever showed up the a knockout round game and appeared to have 0 interest in it? Mexico did some good things in the first 50 minutes but the Dutch came in thinking they could just show up and it'd be an automatic win. Dat analysis.
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 12:57 PM) Lol at Mexico. Costa Rica is free cheese. I'll lol at the US when they get eliminated, it's coming
  20. It'll take a miracle to shut out Holland, we need to keep attacking.
  21. Lol J4L. You sound salty as f*ck. The Heat getting murked got you that down? I don't really feel like getting into it with you (watching Captain Phillips) but I do recall me and you having a difference of opinion between which franchise was more worthy of emulating, you said the Heat and I said San Antonio. SA has beaten the GOAT (lol) LeBron 2 outta 3, really should be 3 outta 3 though... BTW you might want to hand in your Bulls fan card already. That Heat bandwagon is a little lighter nowadays so just go full out, bro. And let's just totally ignore the Bulls got past Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning and Shaq in the East.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 28, 2014 -> 07:33 PM) I'll take Bosh at a max contract in a heartbeat if it somehow could happen. I don't know about a max contract but close to it, yeah. Part of Bosh regression is that he's had to adjust his game to LeBron, he's basically a spot up shooter now. With the Bulls, we'd have him closer to the rim (you'd think).
