QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 11:52 AM) It takes a few minutes to get going, but I thought Bomani Jones had a great breakdown of the whole Sterling situation. http://deadspin.com/in-10-minutes-espns-bo...-ste-1569195989

2016 Summer Olympics preparations 'worst' seen

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 11:01 AM) Brazil is far from a third world country. http://www.globaljournalist.org/stories/20...h-distribution/ Ok, so I might've been wrong on the 3rd world part but my point still stands. Lot's of poor people, and pretty pissed off that the government is spending so much money on the WC and Olympics instead of on education, health services, public transportation, infrastructure, etc... -
2016 Summer Olympics preparations 'worst' seen
MexSoxFan#1 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
They're behind in WC preparations too I believe. How the hell does a 3rd world country get the WC and Summer Olympics two years apart anyways? Pretty stupid if you ask me, and I'm not even mentioning the social unrest going on there. -
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 10:00 PM) If the Pacers end up losing that series, the Bulls really blew their chance to make it to the ECF.. I think if Thibs wasn't so stubborn with his rotations we would have been better off Meh, the East is the D League compared to the West. Getting to the ECFs only to get destroyed by Miami wouldn't impress me in the least. With losing in the first round, hopefully GarPax finally get it through their thick skulls that we aren't as close to being legit as they'd like to believe and maybe they'll do something about it. I doubt it though.

Too little, too late...

I'm rooting for the Clips to win it all just for the lulz on how the NBA would handle that...

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 02:42 PM) And one game away from getting hopes up re: a major upgrade, and instead having Mirotic stay in europe and walking away with a couple late-first-round draft picks and a few veteran pieces to fill out the roster. Don't forget the anual Rose season ending injury. But the Bulls will hustle their way into the playoffs

The defense just sucks.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 27, 2014 -> 01:01 PM) How is Hinrich in the nba yet I'm not Because you're worse...much, much, much worse. It doesn't really matter when the Bulls get eliminated, speaking for myself, I'm tired of getting abused by Miami.

The Heat are so fortunate they're in the cream puff East. They prolly wouldn't get to the Finals this year. The West is that brutal.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 26, 2014 -> 12:28 AM) This f***in guy: http://www.tmz.com/2014/04/26/donald-sterl...-magic-johnson/ Donald Sterling has been known to be a racist POS for some time now.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 09:06 AM) I thought the first was ok, 2nd great, 3rd brutal. This I hate the new Spider-Man movies. Peter Parker wasn't a misunderstood hipster with great hair, he was a nerdy geek. Tobey > this British doofus

Watched Prisoners last night. Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal are both awesome in it. A tough watch if you have children though. Can't imagine the hell the parents of abducted children go through.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 08:53 PM) I'll say this for the 56th time, the west winner could potentially be burnt out by the time they get to the finals. The Spurs are not that far off from being down 0-2 to Dallas. And the Grizzlies are giving OKC all they can handle. And it's the first f***ing round. Another way to see it is, the team that comes outta the West will be battle hardened and ready to take on the Heat who pillow fought their way out of the East . Seriously though and you can call me crazy but If I were a betting man, I'd take the winner of the WCFs over the Heat right now.

I hate the NBA's salary cap

QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 11:39 PM) I'd rather keep watching this group than watch Melo bring this team down to the ground. Get outta here with that. I'm shocked at how many people here act surprised at the fact that the Bulls struggle to score in key moments of a playoff game. If there's one thing Melo does well, it's scoring. I firmly believe Thibs can hide Melo's defensive weakness where his offensive prowess becomes a plus. Melo, please come to Chicago

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 05:41 PM) He is a guy who you hate on another team, but love on your own. Jo has been my favorite Bull for years now. I love the way he plays the game. This We had another guy like that in the second Bulls threepeat. Always been a fan of Jo, I remember being one of the few here at ST that loved the Noah pick.

The thing is, to me, this is the most beatable Heat team since they colluded, er, got together. If only Rose never went down...IMO, if Wade or Bosh get hurt, they won't get to the Finals, call me unimpressed by the Heat supporting cast. LeBron won't get hurt, he's a robot. The Bulls won't beat them, not enough offense but it could go 7 games.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 12, 2014 -> 08:40 PM) lol@Miami. I've never seen two more undeserving potential #1 seeds in my life. Ha, you beat me to it I'd like to think about it as they both are tanking to avoid the Bulls

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 12, 2014 -> 11:41 AM) They didn't have HC in 2012 when they beat OKC. I don't think it will matter this year either. Think about it, the Spurs are looking at Houston/OKC in rounds two and three just to get to the finals. OKC is looking at the Clippers in round f***ing two. Beat the Clippers? Next up the Spurs. I think whoever wins the west won't have anything left for the Heat. My bad, you're right about OKC having HCA. The Heat as it stands right now may need to get past BKN and Chicago/Pacers. Yes they'll advance but they also will get challenged by physically stronger teams albeit not as talented. The Heat just seem to be running out of gas, this will be they're fourth straight year of a long playoffs run. The way I see it, if LeBron just has a few off nights, it could spell doom for their chances. His supporting cast is just not very good right now. It'll be interesting to say the least...

Watched Winter Soldier last night, thought it was awesome. Captain America was my favorite comic growing up, along with Batman and X-Men. So cool that CA is getting some major love today.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 12, 2014 -> 11:18 AM) Turn what on? They can't score. The Even Turner trade bombed. Bynum is fat and broke. Hibbert and George peaked in December. Yeah, only team that's underperforming right now that I can see them "turning it on" is the Heat but that depends alot if Wade is somewhat healthy but he can go down anytime, he's too fragile right now. The Pacers, OTOH, just flat out stink. LeBron WILL need to go full ham if the Heat are to 3peat. This will be the first time they most likely won't have HCA in the Finals, that could be huge.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 12, 2014 -> 10:43 AM) I can understand that perspective, but still wouldn't be surprised to find that team turning it on once playoffs arrived. The Pacers are done, they're hot garbage. Pacers aren't getting to the ECFs. The Heat aren't much better, everyone on the Heat except LBJ suck. The Heat are so beatable this year but they'll be back in the Finals because the East is garbage.

I have a goofy question. I've never really paid attention to All NBA team voting results before. One question, is that voted on positional like best PG, SG, SF, PF and C or is it voted on as best Guards, Fowards and Center? In other words, can you have two SGs if the best guards that year were SGs or do you separate by position? Best PG, SG and so forth... I ask this because Kevin Durant has been the best SF this season, yes even over LeBron. I know LBJ sometimes plays PF when they go small but we all know he's always been a SF first. So LeBron gets a 1st team All NBA as a PF even though they're better natural PFs (Griffin, Love) in the league? Two SFs are in the 1st All NBA team? The way I see it, KD should be 1st All NBA SF and LeBron 2nd All NBA SF, I don't get how he's a better PF than those guy's whose first position is PF.
