QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 10:39 PM) I still don't understand why it's worse to lose in the finals for one's legacy than it is to lose any other time. Ask Wilt. Seriously though, it's the highest level, either you're good enough or you ain't. MJ is GOAT in my opinion because he refused to lose once he had the title within sight, sometimes on sheer will alone ve more talented teams. If LeBron had MJ's sheer will to leave everything on the floor, he'd be almost impossible to beat, he has everything to be on that level but he doesn't. I've seen both MJ and LeBron's career, it isn't the homer in me, MJ without question is the superior player, absolutely no doubt in my mind. That's why I laugh when J4L says it's 'a cloin flip' between them, or crap like MJ fans are 'worried' about LeBron.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 10:35 PM) If only the Spurs made their free throws in game 2... Hopefully the Spurs can put this team away in game 5, because if they don't, I'd start to worry a bit. LeBron's great game in GM 2 saved the Heat from an embarrassing sweep.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 10:31 PM) Also, can we forget about LeBron being better than Jordan, like forever? This is a guy who was a miracle Ray Ray three from being 1-4 in the Finals. Meant to say this...

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 10:19 PM) Seriously does anyone have j4l's contact info?? He hasn't been on, and I'm legitimately worried for his safety emotionally, mentally, and physically This Serious question, do any of J4L's predictions ever pan out? He was going on and on about Beasley and Oden and how dominating the Heat looked in a garbage conference...lol

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 10:13 PM) Pretty effortlessly too. So why hasnt he done that the last 4 quarters? Thats my point. He should have the ball every trip. Worse case he gets free throws or finds an open shooter. Because he doesn't have Jordan's mentality. If he did, he could be the GOAT, easily.

Classy Heat fans booing
-
Being constantly down and having to come back is mentally and physically draining, the Heat will make a run and could still win this game but I really believe the Spurs will win this series.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 12, 2014 -> 09:18 PM) Bron Bron with another no show as his team is getting blown out. Take the ball in the post. You either score or get fouled 90 percent of the time. Why the hell wont you do it? He's scurred
-
The Spurs look closer to burying the Heat than the Heat making it a game.
-
Where's J4L to remind us how easily the Heat were gonna roll the Spurs? Every offesnsive possession by the Heat looks forced and sloppy while the Spurs are getting clean looks.
-
F*ck, Joey Crawford refs tonight's GM 4, Leonard and Spurs in quick foul trouble, Heat by double digits.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 11, 2014 -> 07:22 PM) What a bunch of p*****s. If that happens, so long NBA. I won't watch another minute, and I hope everyone else does the same. I'd do the complete opposite and join J4L on dat Heat bandwagon. We da bess!!! You mad, bro?

Bulls make offer for KLove
MexSoxFan#1 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I also read some advanced stats that indicate he's not very good in close winnable games. He's a good #2, just not a superstar IMO. Then again, having bRicky scRubio as your best help... -

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 08:49 AM) I don't think significantly downgrading our C position to significantly upgrade our PF is what anyone on bulls would be looking for. We'd also be the first team to ever give up that much for a superstar. Love is hardly a "superstar". -
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 10, 2014 -> 10:54 PM) Could easily be up 2-1 as well. I don't see how LeBron would stop the Spurs hot late game shooting in Gm 1, he's a great defender but come on. LeBron was part of the D that allowed that 70%+ Spurs first half
-
The Heat are fortunate they're not down 0-3.
-
And just like that, Spurs grab HCA again
-
Great game by LeBron. Anything less and the Spurs are up 2-0. These Finals are going the distance. Mario Chalmers is a P.O.S.
-
So what's keeping the Spurs from turning the AC off? s***, I'd go full Red Auerbach on them...

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 03:05 PM) They did have a shot. LeBron was inconsistent up until he went HAM at the end of game 6. Wade was banged up and it showed. Bosh was inconsistent. Danny Green hit 4373472373 3's in the first 5 games. Leonard had a breakout series. Duncan went vintage 2004 the last two games. And they still lost. The Big three haven't played this well together at the same time since 2011, odd as that is. The Pacers now know they were lucky and fortunate to even go 7 games last year. And before you say, "haha, the pacers suck, the east sucks", keep in mind a healthy, locked in Heat smoked the most talented team in nba history two years ago without homecourt. They are again healthy and locked in. 2014 Spurs - may I introduce you to Karl Malone and the 1998 Jazz. In two weeks, one of us will have bragging rights

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 1, 2014 -> 08:53 AM) This. Those picking the Spurs are only doing so because they either hate the Heat or hate that LeBron is closing in on their hero. I haven't heard/read anything from the pro-Spurs crowd other than, "haha, the east sucks" and "homecourt, dude!". I've seen this movie before. Like Vogul said, LeBron is the Jordan of this era and the Heat are the Bulls of this era. Heat in 5. I hate the Heat, hated them since Riley and Zo. I don't hate LeBron, dude is awesome, best player of his era, he's just not on MJ's level. In 5-6 years we'll be laughing at how you thought he was better than MJ. Remember when some people thought Kobe would surpass MJ? That crowd disappeared. Time has a way of placing players in their rightful place when being a prisoner of the moment fades. This will be just as funny as your Knicks = title contenders prediction. One more thing, stop acting like the Spurs didn't have a shot last year.

The Heat have looked 'dominant' because of the garbage conference they play in. Spurs have great ball movement, very good inside game and good shooters. Spurs in 6.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 27, 2014 -> 09:38 AM) Somethin' in the water this day. Another flat-out lie. I never said James was better. But as each game/series/year goes by, he gets that much closer. And you guys know it. LeBron's sportin' a 32.2 PER and a 67.1 true shooting% in the playoffs. That's not even a video game. That's somethin' else I can't even think of. You should just come out and say it already. You do think James is better, I don't. We have different opinions, I ain't being a homer when I say MJ from 89-93 is better than any version I've seen of James. Don't get me wrong, LeBron is a GOAT, there's no doubt. But he will be 30 and I firmly believe we are seeing him at his best, if he actually gets better when he's 31, 32, 33, we might have to check if he's really human because those are the years a player starts to slow down. I expect him to slow down. In his 30s he'll rack up totals but his peak/prime will be behind him. Peak MJ > peak Bron

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 27, 2014 -> 09:40 AM) That's like me saying LeBron > MJ because LeBron never lost in the first round and MJ lost three times. MJ always made the playoffs as a Bull, LeBron missed them twice. BTW, MJ lost in the first round twice against Birds Celtics, pretty sure Bran isn't leading those Bulls over those Celtics either. Making the playoffs > missing the playoffs
