Maybe they're hoping Getz hits well enough to lead off? -
looks like there's a lot of muscle on him..

QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Nov 21, 2008 -> 09:55 PM) Hey Cubano, I really enjoy and appreciate the insight you bring. Thanks for posting here! I hope we can make a loyal White Sox fan out of you! We're stealing all of their players, I'm sure the Sox aren't very well liked there...

If you acquired Pelfrey, would you even need to sign Lowe? IF the Javvy&Bobby deal for F-Mart and Pelfrey went down, I could see Kenny showing some interest in Pat Burrel or Bobby Abreau for LF, or they could turn around and send some of those prospects for a guy like Ichiro. -
Does anyone know if this is being reported anywhere else?
-
He tore something in his elbow, he's still a good prospect, but I'd prefer Wade Davis
-
Has anyone heard anything else on this deal, and were they saying that it's likely to get done?

M's lead the Twinkies 4-3 in the bottom of the 7th

He pitched again on thursday, tossing 3.1 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit, 1 walk, and once again striking out 3 while picking up a save.

I like DJ more than Hawk, his HR call isn't great, but he doesn't sit around and b**** about stuff the whole game, and he's kind of funny on occasion.

He may need to throw more strikes with the pitch as he progresses, but scouts say he is effectively wild and has a chance to be a solid big league starter. He complements his fastball with a slurvy slider that he is able to throw more consistently for strikes, and he gets good sinking action on his changeup. He went 2-1, 2.61 for the Cincinnati Steam last summer, with 13 walks and 28 strikeouts in 31 innings. He limited opponents to a .190 average. As a sophomore at Xavier, he went 4-3, 4.22 with only 47 strikeouts in 81 innings. Leesman, a 40th-round draft pick of the Minnesota Twins out of high school, had labrum surgery on his shoulder in September 2005 but never took a red-shirt and shows no lingering effects from the injury"

I'm excited. I live in the NW and pretty much the only time I get to actually watch the Sox play is on the random ESPN game or when they play the Mariners. I'll be glued to my couch for the next several days. I'll finally get to watch Floyd pitch too You should get mlb.tv, I live in Seattle and I can watch pretty much every White Sox game(except for saturday usually), and it's only 20$ a season -
Poreda's name comes up when talking 5th starter.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 18, 2008 -> 05:00 PM) Sounds like it's going to be Clayton Richard. All I have to say is tonight is a must win, as Richard vs Felix Hernandez is not promising. Well that sucks, hopefully Duchscherer beats the Twins tonight. -

If he's facing Seattle, I'd be fine with him pitching, I see the Mariners all the time(i live in seattle), and about half of their players are from AAA anyway, they swing at s***ty pitches, the only guys that'd worry me are Ichiro and Ibanez, Beltre only hit's when you leave something over the middle of the plate, so I wouldn't be too afraid of him. A team like Seattle would probably actually be the best case scenario for him to make his debut, you can talk about his confidence being hurt if he sucks it up, imagine how high it would get if he dominated a major league team. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 17, 2008 -> 12:04 PM) The power potential is there, but I don't project him as a 30HR guy. I'd say at his best he would turn into a guy who hits 20-30 HR's but its more likely it would be a little less (but I see lots of extra base hits). In fact, tools wise, I'd compare him a bit to Sizemore. No, I'm not saying he will be Sizemore but he reminds me of a young Sizemore in the sense of his "skill-set". I read some scouting reports that compared him to Jacoby Ellsbury with more OBP and Power potential, does he have that kind of speed?

I think they just sent him down because Ozzie wanted more bullpen help, I don't think Richard will start, and Broadway will probably be back in september.

QUOTE (scenario @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 07:31 PM) Beckham is making up for lost time tonight... Walk, single, and double in his first 3 trips to the plate. If only he had signed earlier...
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 11:20 AM) . I doubt we see either Beckham or Danks in the AFL, but it's all up to KW. Beckham said he was going to play fall ball, don't know if that's what he meant, but he's going to be doing something to make up for the time he lost.
