  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 06:09 PM) Absolutely. Here is how it went... Wilder and his cronies propped up the economy with their lavish spending on "stuff"... KW finds, out, takes the blank check away, and Wilder goes down... Less money in the luxury economy trickles down... Voila! Recession! Don't forget the part that, that bastard Cabrera played in this scheme!
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 05:35 PM) So what we're all saying here is that we all basically agreed the whole time. I love it. I'm so confused. You almost made me do research to argue your false claim! RESEARCH!!!!
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) Wins are all that f***ing matters! This is an incredibly flawed statement. There is no logic or proof to back up this claim. In fact, there are decades long worth of research to disprove it.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) You're right, Marquez/Poreda/Broadway/Nunez/Richard are all more established MLB pitchers and have a better chance of being successful than Garland. Give me the guy we know, the guy we've seen, and the guy we know is going to give us 30 starts. So, give us a guy back whose on a Paul Byrd-like Career path or try guys with tons more potential like Poreda and Richard? If we want 2005 nostalgia then we know what option, if we want to put ourselves in the best position for the future we best give some of these kids a shot.
  5. QUOTE (b-Rye @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 04:52 PM) This team has a ton of holes.. they could start off by signing him to solidify the pitching staff.. then CF (leadoff hitter) and SS (our defense is gonna suck ass!!! Would not mind bringing back Cabrera too) Cabrera will never be in a White Sox uniform again.
  6. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 04:18 PM) Bobby Abreu with the A's also FWIW. That A's OF logjam's not getting any smaller. I doubt that Abreu'll be an A unless his value plummets.
  7. The guy’s research skills are pretty admirable too. I imagine he has some software at his disposal, but he’s still posting and compiling stuff well into the morning.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 04:36 PM) Oh stop Why? I love Bobby, but he's not untouchable. He'd made a comment in jest, and i played the advocate. Why can't we discuss this?
  9. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 04:26 PM) 2 more red flags for Garland; AWAY - 5.94 ERA, .332 BAA Post ASB - 5.99 ERA, .322 BAA He also begged off the Angels postseason roster. That'd go well with Ozzie, wouldn't it?
  10. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 03:55 PM) Oh well a good number of Soxtalk will have him traded for a really good Class A centerfielder. If you can give me a really good Class AA CF for a closer i might consider it.
  11. We should keep in mind that Garland is coming off his worst statistical year, in what is assumed to be a pitchers ballpark.
  12. Just had the best Whopper i've ever had today. Suck on that one, foreign critics!I just had it my way!
  13. Yep, the guy's clearly a gamer, problem is he's also a sociopath.
  14. Didn't the Twins hit something like, 323 with runners in scoring position? Now, that's luck.
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 01:26 AM) 2009 could honestly be a pretty rough year, and that's all he was referencing I don't know, I’d expect he'd of said immediate future if he meant that. I think we can't look at this in a vacuum our division is weak, KW has seen this, and is using this opportunity to gear us towards the future. I haven't heard a compelling argument yet as to why we can’t compete for the division with the team as presently constructed.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 02:09 PM) Except that the idea is beyond ridiculous and doesnt have a chance in hell of ever happening Never said it did. Talking in terms of unrealistic speculation
  17. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 18, 2008 -> 12:19 AM) No, cause I do not have a vested interst in that movie. I love ths team, but don't see a bright future.(2009) Please, the future's looking bright and i don't even need shades. We have good young ball players and we are in a great position to compete for years to come.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 10:53 PM) Wow Ben Gordon. That was incredible. WOW
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 09:49 PM) I don't know about consistent minutes and who is playing more minutes, but Aaron Gray should NEVER EVER be on the floor. As long as he is playing, somebody is losing out on minutes, and that's a shame. I know this is a tiny team and he's one of the few guys with any size, but he's still terrible. The white panther can't play, and he should not be on the floor, I don't care how big he is. I listening to the Clippers broadcast, and they love him too. I'm like, "have you seen him play??"
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 06:12 PM) So the current suitors for O-Cab are KC, OAK and ATL, yes? What are their relative draft positions? Is he still on the Twins radar?
  21. Rosenthal says Furcal to the Dodgers. That 17th pick woulda been to good to be true
  22. QUOTE (bear_brian @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 03:25 PM) Am wondering if Taveras goes to Cincy, does that make Dickerson and Bailey a good enough return for Jermaine? Would also stop Kenny from possibly chasing Taveras ... Would Cincy do that sort of deal? According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Reds are interested in Willy Taveras. The newspaper reports that "the Reds called him as soon as he became a free agent" last week. Taveras would lead off and play center field for the Reds, which would push Chris Dickerson into a reserve role if they add another bat. Source: Cincinnati Enquirer This was always the optimal return for Dye. Dickerson would be a great addition to the team, and could start in LF opening day
  23. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Dec 16, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) Hmmmmmm, speculatively-speaking, is there any possibility that we can ask for a little more and get Heyward along with Escobar for Jenks? Just speculatively-speaking... Those two for a closer would be a legendary move if KW could pull it off.
  24. O-Cab to the Dodgers would be ideal. For those who might think that talent is scarce at 17 here are some notable #17 picks. Roy Halladay, Brad Lidge, Cole Hamels, David Murphy, Matt Antonelli, Blake Bevean (one of the top pitching prospect for Rangers). After, AP and Beckham i like our chances of getting something good.
  25. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 16, 2008 -> 11:42 PM) http://www.inquisitr.com/11059/elizabeth-f...texted-her-dad/ I don't even know what the believe in terms of validity online anymore, but this seems real, and it's funny as hell regardless. I've seen pictures of the girl and the phone. Still could be a joke, but its seems fairly legitmate.
