I think the Bears end up with Edge Shaq Lawson, DL Sheldon Rankins, or RB Ezekiel Elliott tomorrow.

Miguel Gonzalez optioned to AAA, Daniel Webb called up

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 02:12 PM) thought Gonzalez did not have any options. He had an option left. It was said the other day. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 12:44 PM) For the Bears IMO its a bad pick since they already have a guy that is sufficient for their team. They have glaring holes in the secondary and at LB. I dont think Elliott makes it to them anyway. I understand what you mean. I just don't like the draft class. There are like 8 really good players. #11 isn't an ideal spot to be picking.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 12:41 PM) I mean, he was asked the question by reporters and he answered it. It doesnt mean anything except he thinks the Bears love him, they may not. We all dont think a RB is good value for the Bears at that pick, and they probably dont either. I don't think "A Running Back" is good value at #11. I think Ezekiel Elliott is good value though compared to what will probably be on the board. Could Shaq Lawson or William Jackson be really good in the NFL? Absolutely. I way more confident that Elliott will be awesome though. He's a top 5 player in the class in my opinion.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 12:25 PM) Our very own Aaron Leming(SoCalSox) stated in his mock draft that he is convinced Charles Leno will be the starting LT next year. You buying or selling that? SoCal, have you heard something or is it just a hunch? I don't think Aaron comes in this thread. From what we've talked about this offseason though, they really like Leno. They'd take Stanley at #11 and Leno would no longer be the starter but he doesn't think that they are looking to draft a LT. Just kind of depends how the board falls. I personally don't think Conklin is a LT either so it probably doesn't matter in round 1 because I expect Tunsil and Stanley to be gone.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 12:14 PM) I think to a player it is pretty obvious the teams who really like a player and who don't. Don't forget the relationship the Bears coach has with Elliot as well. Stan Drayton recruited Elliott to Ohio State when he was like an in-state lock to Mizzou. I'm sure there are defensive players that the Bears would rather have but if Elliott is on the board at #11, I would think that he's probably the pick.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 02:04 AM) What about the flat tax? I kinda like it. In this day and age of people getting so mad at believers, it is hard to believe he could emerge as the candidate. I mean I am a true believer and actually am a practicing Catholic, but as a nation I sense people get very mad when they find out you are a believer. People around here don't like hearing a word about God, that is for sure. You can't bring up religion or you better duck (except with your fellow parishioners of course). I was just wondering if there was anything about Cruz I could rally around since it appears he may beat out Trump and I despise Hillary as much as I do. I don't care who is a believer and who isn't. That's a personal choice. 25% of the country is atheist or non-believers now though and Cruz's platform definitely doesn't ring home with any of them.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 11:19 PM) Admittedly I've been reading a lot more about Prince's death than the primaries. So tell me Republicans, is there any hope with this Cruz guy? Any reason I should be getting excited? I do like the idea of a flat tax finally. f*** the IRS and that bulls*** formula. Anybody who reads my threads know I despise Hillary. I'm not a big fan of Trump mainly because he's a f***ing idiot. How bout tonight's line about how good looking he is? I know it's a joke, but still ... Donald you are rich so you can say and do whatever you want, but you are not good looking. Your hair looks like Chicago legend Bozo's quite frankly. And Bernie's OK, but he aint winning anything anytime soon. So tell me, can we handle a Cruz presidency?? Is he somebody Greg could get to like?? Donald Trump is running on the premise that he's a hateful crazy person. Ted Cruz is literally a hateful crazy person though. He really is awful and is the most frightening of all the candidates. He'd have absolutely no shot in a general though sop it doesn't really matter.

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 07:54 AM) Callers on local radio saying Hossa needs to retire. Hossa is going to be with the Hawks for years in some fashion. That recapture is nasty. Also, everyone calling this a complete failure of a season. I don't disagree, but let's be honest, if this team wasn't going to win the Cup, it's best that they go out in the first round. The Blackhawks are playing so much extra hockey every year, this is probably a deserved long offseason. It's not even close to a complete failure. They lost in 7 to one of the best teams in the NHL. It's very hard to repeat and nobody should have "expected" them to.

NHL has to be pissed with Chicago, Rangers, and Kings all gone. They did it to themselves with this dumbass format though.

Miguel Gonzalez getting called up, Danks skipped
Y2Jimmy0 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Gonzalez wasn't good but he did face Toronto. I'd rather roll with him than Danks personally. -
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 05:03 PM) Great, let's just let everybody cheat without punishment. Bears should plant cameras in the visitors locker room so they can know what the other team is saying before the game and at halftime. Bug the headsets too. Anything goes. But I do agree that Brady shouldn't have been suspended. What really should have happened was their entire 2014 season vacated, but a 4-game suspension is at least something. Wins vacated? LOL. This post is absurd.

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 12:02 PM) If I had to guess now, I think the Bears take Jackson, Lawson or Floyd. Either way, I'm good with it. Pace had a solid first draft. If they can find another class with 3-4 starters, I'm happy. I really don't want Floyd. He's just not an Edge guy. His best fit is as an off ball LB in a 4-3 front. I think it'll be Elliott, Lawson, Jackson, Rankins, or an OT.
-
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 12:11 PM) An opinion held by Patriots fans, Michigan fans and virtually nobody else. I'm a fan of neither and I don't think he should be suspended.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 11:33 AM) Since Gonzalez has no options left? Anyone think he or Danks will be sent to the bullpen for long relief and send Petricka or Putnam down? Are we positive that he's out of options? Scott Merkin said that he has one yesterday -
QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 09:27 AM) This is going to be a fun draft. Really unsettled starting at pick 3. I wonder if we will hear of a deal being done with Rams and a QB before the pick or if we will have no idea who is first. Goff is going #1. It's everywhere. The reason Philadelphia went to #2 was to draft Carson Wentz.

If the White Sox go 72-71 from here on out, they will finish 85-77.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 08:56 AM) True but it still reeks of a typical Washington bust. Has Snyder stepped out of the way to let McCloughan do his job since he has been there? I know they were better last year but I dont follow them enough to know if Snyder is willing to give full reigns to the GM. Yeah. I doubt McCloughan would be there otherwise. I understand your initial statement. It's been that way until probably last offseason. I would have normally agreed with you but I truly do think it's different now.
-
QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 08:47 AM) The fact that Washington thinks this is a good idea makes me KNOW this is a terrible signing. Washington have been the kings of bad FA signings for years now. I disagree. I used to feel this way but Scot McCloughan is in charge now. He's a stud personnel guy and team builder. This isn't just Daniel Snyder throwing money around.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 08:42 AM) I don't mean to disparage anyone posting here, but I don't know how you can listen to Benetti and Stone give you a professional broadcast and then pine for Hawk to come back. The game has obviously passed him by and it's time for a change. I only hope radio change is next. +1

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 08:20 AM) Shaq Lawson heating up to the Bears per Matt Miller. This is either agent driven or the Bears want it out there. That front office is locked up tight. I'd be completely fine with that pick though.
-
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 22, 2016 -> 04:33 PM) Darron Lee would probably play SS for the Bears. He's not a huge guy but fast as hell. He may end up goig before Jack, something no one would have thought 3 months ago. I wouldn't love the pick, but Fangio's always had hard hitting, fast safeties. Darron Lee isn't really a fit in Chicago anymore. He wouldn't even start for the Bears.

Benetti is fantastic. Breath of fresh air. Having a professional broadcaster is a good thing.

Cleveland outdrew us? Attendance down 13% so far

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 22, 2016 -> 11:23 AM) I was there too. We were waiting outside the gates for just about 2 hours, so I'm sure there were thousands of people that didn't want to stand out there for that long, so they just left. Even when they let us in, they "upgraded" us to seats in the shade when it was like 30 degrees out in the sun lol, so naturally we were freezing. We ended up sitting in the sunny part in the outfield, but the whole experience was a clown show. I still had a good time though We had OF seats and got inside by the 2nd inning. They gave us vouchers for an April/May game though on the way out and I used it Monday
