QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 13, 2015 -> 11:53 AM) I don't think this is the season the Sox should mortgage the future but given his contract, Adrian Beltre would probably be the easier player to acquire. The AL West is going to make it awfully hard for an injured Rangers team to be in the picture these next two seasons. I thought the same thing and almost posted it earlier. Aramis Ramirez as a possibility as well?

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 02:45 PM) I do as well, however, I think with a better supporting cast, Hackenberg will be the #1 QB next year. Hackenberg Cook Jones Boykin Prescott Hackenberg, Cook, and Kessler will be the top 3. Watch Goff from California and Kiel as well. Prescott isn't an NFL player.

"Believe" - New documentary about '05 Sox

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 10:23 PM) Not downplaying 05 as it was the best. After that, I really thought we'd dominate the division for a while. People were talking that way. Didn't happen. We've pretty much sucked balls since then. Similar to the 85 Bears. One hit wonders. That's incredible. I worship Mark, but what was he thinking? Do they have kegs out in the bullpen? I know they got em in the clubhouse. Buehrle was drinking during the game with Garland. I think this is fairly common; especially for a starting pitcher that won't be playing that day. Once it got way into extra innings, he went down to the bullpen and closed the game out. I thought everyone knew this story? -
I wish Robin would tell these guys to start hitting and stop pitching poorly. LOL at blaming the manager for this. It's like people are just watching baseball for the first time. FIREANDTHEPASSION!!!

I liked it better when the team was bad and I didn't hate myself for coming in here. Good lord people.

QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 03:39 PM) LaRoche is certainly trying to earn his right to be a soxtalk whipping boy early on here LaRoche is a notorious slow starter.

This morning on the "Kap and Haugh" show David Haugh said that Ventura and Molitor have something in common: They are both managing in the shadow of Ron Gardenhire. I thought this was interesting. I'm not one of these people blaming Ventura and I generally think he's fine. I don't think Gardy is a fit though. He would lose his mind dealing with Chicago media every day and he has absolutely no interest in using analytics/metrics. Doesn't seem like a Rick Hahn move. Most likely just dump speculation on Haugh's part. Thoughts?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 10, 2015 -> 09:27 AM) If you happen to go to a game and try something, I want to read what you think about it. Give me a good reason to go get something, or avoid it. Brooks Boyer was on with Mully & Hanley this morning and said a new Taco Barn was opened that everyone needs to try. Combine that with a helmet full of ribs and a walking taco, and I am strongly considering ditching work and going to try and sneak in the park at lunch time And if you had something last year feel free to put your critique down as well I get the Tex-Mex Burrito every time I go so I will most likely try the tacos on Sunday. My favorite new item from last year: The Chicken and Waffle Sandwich. Can be tough to finish off at the ball park unless you go stand somewhere or sit down but it's stupid good.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 9, 2015 -> 11:43 AM) This. Has absolutely nothing to do with having fire. Starting pitching wasn't good enough, they are bad defensively, and Kansas City pitched pretty well. They are a bad matchup for the Sox. Minnesota is exactly what this team needs right now.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 7, 2015 -> 02:20 PM) I'm 23, guess I'm not cool lol. Who are we linked with/favored? Well that tweet says that Yes the White Sox are linked to people but McDaniel hasn't listed those names yet.
-
This was interesting from Kiley McDaniel's Fangraphs chat today: Comment From mesut ozil heard the White Sox linked with anyone on J2? 12:57 Kiley McDaniel: yep. coming soon.

When the hell will these full rosters be announced?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 4, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/12591623/top-25-players ESPN Top 100 players list Quintana, Ramirez, Eaton, Cabrera, LaRoche on the outside looking in. For some reason, Robertson's listed on the Tigers. Quintana is better than Samardzija

QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) I mean from what I saw last game his fastball was really the culprit. His breaking pitches looked fine. Well his sinker isn't sinking in Arizona. I wouldn't worry about it.

QUOTE (Sockin @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 02:01 PM) Are we going with 4 starters until Chris comes back? Yes. Sounds like he'll pitch April 12th. Starters will be on regular rest. -

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 1, 2015 -> 01:44 PM) Well, Sanchez will be easy to send down when Sale/Petricka comes off the DL. Other than that, I don't get it. So they will go with 7 in the pen and 4 starters? Is it more likely that they will send Drabek to the minors now? If the 7 are: Robertson, Duke, Putnam, Guerra, Jennings, Albers, and Drabek, one will be discarded in a week for Petricka. I wonder if they will just keep Cleto and DFA him when Petricka is ready and try to slide Drabek to AAA? -
QUOTE (LDF @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 10:48 AM) i am itching and dying to debate the BPA idea, but i will wait a couple more weeks. i would really like to see how the mock draft's will list the prospects. Debate what though? You should always go BPA in the baseball draft. In the first round specifically, you should never worry about a position.

QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 11:34 AM) Looks like Bernstein is taking a vacation. Not sure if it was already planned or suggested by CBS, but it would be a good cover for a possible suspension. Is Dan off today? He worked yesterday.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 07:08 AM) Didn't even think of that angle. But that is an interesting point. Would it really work that way? Don't you have to "accept" tickets for the game with this app? So if you don't "accept," I am not sure you count as attending. But I really have no idea. And they get to sell concessions. I've always said that they should give away tickets because people will buy stuff at the park.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 27, 2015 -> 05:55 PM) Literally yesterday he said contact was "in the next 2 weeks". I saw nothing about it happening today anywhere. Rose took contact today according to every Bulls writer on twitter

QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 03:54 PM) Sox fans, if he's available at 8 (which I think he absolutely will be) this June do you take him? I know I wouldn't, but I'm just curious, I saw fans of deeper systems hoping he falls Absolutely.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) They're building a brand new arena in the middle of the third largest city in the country with plenty of talent (enough to get a decent high-major recruit every now and then), have shown they'll pay an obscene amount to an atrocious coach, and actually had some young, hungry, bigger-name up-and-coming head coaches that, who the f*** even knows why, were actually showing interest and interviewing and could breathe some life to a once-proud program...and ponsetto pulls this s***?! An old f***ing retread that absolutely NOBODY wants nor was even looking to hire?! f*** ponsetto. f*** this s***. I'm done. Two of those coaches you speak of did turn the job down though. It's not like they didn't offer Hurley and Drew. -
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 07:05 PM) Rodon still could start the season with the Sox and get sent down once Petricka is feeling better. How would that effect his service time ? It wouldn't but why bother. Rodon should not pitch out of the bullpen. Go to Charlotte and get starts in immediately.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) Lol wow. Depaul job is a lot worse than I thought. The facilities are terrible. The arena isn't on campus. There are many issues. What other D1 school kicks the basketball team out at a certain time so that the Girls Volleyball team can practice. They should have fired Lenti-Ponsetto and gone from there. Oh well.
