The best players in this draft are college 1B and 2B and college starters with reliever risk. Ethan Holliday is in next year's class. I won't be upset with a top 5 pick but the system blows for the White Sox

Oh yeah they're screwed. I don't think it's tanking though necessarily. They just don't have an easy way out right now.

The industry sees a pretty massive gap though. Mike Monaco is fine. Jason Benetti will possibly do a super bowl or final fours though.

I just don't really care what they call it. The 2024 White Sox are going to be terrible. They'll have a very realistic shot at a bottom 3 record imo.

I'm pretty conflicted. I wouldn't be upset if they landed the #1 pick but the franchise might be better off if they get the 7th pick.

No because then you have to keep them on the 40-man forever. It’s not worth it. There are lots of moveable parts for sure but don’t need resolution yet

I just assume that Jerry is a vampire who will live forever I don’t think that matters. Reinsdorf doesn’t like Benetti and hasn’t loved the broadcast. He just doesn’t think he’s funny or that great. It was reported in multiple spots this week

Yeah I'm a fan who blogs and does podcasts. There's a huge difference. I've never met Jason Benetti. I'd never stop watching games over the loss of an announcer. That's insane. The product will be worse because of this though and it was avoidable. That was the whole point. Thanks for the diatribe though. I'm entertained.

This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen on this forum and that’s impressive. It’s really embarrassing. It’s the White Sox under Jerry Reinsdorf though. Short-sighted, penny wise and pound foolish, etc. I’m sure Brooks Boyer has a fucking stiffy just thinking about putting a lame broadcaster from Notre Dame in the booth It’s not lazy. Robert is the best player on the team. It was a good way to point out how good Benetti is at his job. Saying he’s better at his job than Andrew Vaughn isn’t a compliment but Andrew Vaughn sucks.

I heard him and he’s correct. Jason Benetti is better at his job than anyone else currently employed by the White Sox. Benetti will do final fours and super bowls etc. He’s one of the best at his job in the country and he wanted to broadcast White Sox games. Jerry didn’t pony up and he’s never liked his style anyway. He’s a short-sighted old f*** though and he can’t be gone soon enough.

I really hope the White Sox end up with the 7th pick. Keep them eligible for top 3 in 2025

I have no issue with this. Analytical type from outside the org. Player development directors rarely have experience because they get promoted to other jobs generally He also has a connection with Walt Jocketty who hangs out with Jerry Reinsdorf and Tony La Russa….
