2022 MLB Draft Thread
One of the injured guys you think? I'm not sure anyone healthy will be there.
-
4/19 Games
He could be the extra guy for the DH. I don't think there's anyone else on the 40-man haha
-
4/18 Game
Well they signed like 4 players that I know of haha. Should still have like $1 million from my records so I’m curious to read this.

4/17 Games
Jim Callis talks about this on the FutureSox podcast tomorrow

4/17 Games
I'm not sure he's a top 100 prospect. Montgomery, Colas and Jose Rodriguez are all better than he is in my opinion so that would give the Sox 4 top 100 prospects. I'd just be very surprised to see Ramos jump those guys. If there's any chance that Ramos ends up at first base (and there is), they should try to headline a trade package with him.

Data team will take him high. Gabriel Hughes and Campbell might be the top 2 college starters off the board. None in the top 10 is my guess right now

Baseball America Top 30 (Actually, 40)
“Guy is legit” and “small sample but I’m a fan” are direct quotes from people outside the org. He’s playing CF which he won’t do but it tells me he can definitely play a corner. He also has plus power potential. Definite big leaguer and probably a regular in an outfield corner. Reminds me of Cliff Floyd personally.

From what I've heard so far, Colas might be closer to #1. #10 is absurd.

4/10 Games
They've done a solid job of it. Just finding seniors that you like and paying them $10K each ($60K total in rounds 6-10) and you use the entire pool on 1-5 essentially and save money to go over $150K on day three with multiple guys.

4/10 Games
I still think he should be on the roster over Mendick. He's much more useful.

4/9 Games
I mean I would think so. he's like 25 years old. No reason to waitt. No not at all. Just getting rid of Madrigal was the plan behind that trade. The player that the White Sox ended up with wasn't the same guy they thought they were getting for whatever reason. Whether it was the fault of the amateur scouting department or the player just got worse, the White Sox deemed him expendable. People 70 hit with close to the same grades for run and defense. If you're going to slap singles intentionally, 55 defense with 55 run grades just isn't good enough.

4/9 Games
Definite big leaguer. His bat has been much, much better than advertised in the high minors.
-
4/9 Games
Early June I think is a safe estimation. He’ll be on an innings limit anyway though so it shouldn’t really affect him much innings pitched wise
-
4/9 Games
Dominguez stuff has really ticked up. He and Bilous might ultimately be better than anyone in AAA right now. Also, what a difference. This Kannapolis team is so much better than what they did last year.
-
4/8 Games
Nah. Lambert and McClure are both better. Jason Bilous is too. Surprised he's in Birmingham.
-
4/7 Games - Lambert
Ronaldo Guzman was recently released, actually. Mena should be in Kanny though. Hackenberg and Tatum are in Winston. I'm hoping Quezada is in AZ. Krogman is back in Kanny but I like him.
-
Moncada IL, Burger up; Burr IL, Foster up
No it's not. He doesn't have any value.

I know they like Hughes from Gonzaga too. They can’t afford Rocker imo
-
4/5 Games!!!!!!!!
He projects as a big league backup. I don’t typically rank backups. I never even ranked Zavala I don’t think
-
4/5 Games!!!!!!!!
Zavala and Adolfo will be gone too. That brings it to 26. Crick will be 27.

Cueto to Sox (Official)
They didn't replace Rodon and pitching is an issue but I feel much better after the additions of Pollock and McGuire. The offense is ridiculous.
-
Manaea to Padres, Sox were in on him
Yeah me neither. They aren’t trading Vaughn. That would be idiotic. They don’t have much to trade though.
-
Manaea to Padres, Sox were in on him
Maybe. I doubt the Sox wanted to do Ramos and Thompson for 1 year of Manaea. I thought this would involve Burger or Sheets or it wouldn’t happen

Truly investing resources into scouting and development matters. Signing teenagers instead of older Cubans every year matters as well.

The 19-year-old infielder that the A’s got would be a top 5 prospect in the Sox system. Sox equivalent is like Jose Rodriguez or Kath/Montgomery I’d think. Sox likely weren’t doing that for a 1 year guy. Teams just aren’t interested in Sheets and Burger it seems. Shocking I know.
