  1. This has definitely been an issue for multiple clubs. It's not even just about Toronto either. What if in a worst case scenario, restrictions come back in big cities and he's not allowed to play? Clubs are definitely taking it into consideration and some have ruled him out because of it. I'm just not sure it makes sense for many teams. A big market contender isn't giving up a 2nd rounder, the pool space and $500K while also paying him $18 million plus this year and then letting him walk after the season. It could make sense for a small market contender that would only give up their 3rd round pick. I just don't know who that team is. Man it's so long this year. That would be July 17th due to the draft being much later.
  2. My early thoughts are that I hope Sox take prep outfielders with first two picks. Last year’s strategy again but with outfielders.
  3. I doubt the Mets are interested. They really want the draft pick. Please, give us your best offer!
  4. Nah this isn't true. This is very surprising. Sox very rarely go to arbitration.
  5. I doubt it. I just don’t see when they could justify letting him play in the big leagues. Who would be sitting so Micker Adolfo could try to not strikeout over 40% of the time? He’ll likely be traded. It’s unfortunate but he just ran out of time.
  6. Nope. Mid July after the draft.
  7. Jays and Mets very unlikely. The others are possible though. And Heyman will be good on this because it's Boras.
  8. I've seen Texas speculated for Conforto but I've heard similar on their reluctance. They are forfeiting their 2nd and 3rd rounder. In theory, it makes sense to just add the player and forfeit your 4th as well. The issue is that there are 3 stud prep position players in this class and the Rangers may need to go over slot at #3 to land one of them. Conforto is in a tough spot. I don't think anyone is meeting the perceived asking price of 5/100. A short-deal with opt-outs is likely preferred at this point but there's a very limited market for that I'd think. .
  9. Oh I won’t do it anymore. You can trust me on that.
  10. I’m not buying it. The Mets want the comp pick so that they’ll have a draft pool around $15 million.
  11. I've said since the beginning of the off-season that Michael Conforto should've accepted the QO due to his 2021 season. His market cratered because of the QO being attached and other factors. I'm offended because you're insinuating that I'm an idiot and passing along information that isn't true. Calling me a mouthpiece is implying that I just regurgitate what I'm told without vetting it. It couldn't be further from the truth.
  12. I disagree. 4 years at $18 million per or so is definitely reasonable. Lets see what he gets and I'll admit I'm wrong if it's higher.
  13. I’m very careful and cautious with the information that I share. I have a vetting process that doesn’t need to be explained to strangers on here though. If I shared everything I hear, I’d look like a complete moron. I’ll stand by my track record with what I share. The assumption that my information came from the White Sox and then I ran to share it to appease the fan base is absurd and wrong. I’m a nobody. The White Sox aren’t sharing info with me. I don’t think Conforto is asking for too much money. The league apparently does however. I’m not trying to make anyone feel better either. If this is the off-season, it’s a failure to allocate available resources properly. I’ve said that. I need to see what else happens though.
  14. Dude go fuck yourself. Seriously. Keep my name out of your mouth.
  15. To be fair, this is true. Within the current configuration, this is the likely setup.
  16. Out of these teams, the Rangers make the sense. They've already forfeited their 2nd and 3rd rounders as well so giving up the 4th isn't a huge deal.
  17. Can he even play home games with the Jays?
  18. I honestly don’t know
  19. I’d trade all of them. Gavin Sheets might be Sox best 2nd rounder ever. It’s not just about the player though but also the pool space. It changes how much the player is worth. If your valuation says Conforto is worth 4/80, he’s not worth 4/80 plus a 2nd rounder, the bonus amount and $500K in international space. It’s just complicated.
  20. I mean that’s not the same thing. Come on, man.
  21. Not true. They’ve offered players more money since. I think that’s a very fair first offer for Conforto with a QO, personally. Agreed. There’s no market for him that’s known anyway. I’m not sure that deal is out there. Most teams won’t forfeit a 2nd, the pool space and $500K in international funds for 1-2 years of Conforto. He should’ve taken the QO. They aren’t. The board might be but this doesn’t make any sense. I don’t know what the status is but I now they had interest in the player.
  22. I don’t know. I doubt it. Informed speculation: the Sox were willing to do something in the 4 year $72-$76 million range. I have no idea whether they still would or not. Boras was looking for more than that. Over 5 years and $100 million plus from all indications. I doubt Sox would do a 1-2 year and forfeit the 2nd rounder and pool space to do so. I’m not sure anyone would though.
