No. The White Sox just don't have the players to even get close. The rumor is that San Diego would move Robert Hassell, Luis Campusano and Jackson Merrill potentially. That's an absolute haul.

I think Gavin Sheets as the headliner for Sean Manaea made lots of sense if the White Sox then signed Conforto or added a different LHH outfielder. I'm not sure they can trade Sheets right now without doing that because they have to get more left-handed. It's imperative. Also from what i've heard, Sean Manaea would love to be with the White Sox and likely returns to the midwest in free agency regardless. This trade isn't up to him though obviously.

No but when I do projections I'm not going to factor in possible injuries. On paper, I'm not sure anyone is better than them in the AL regardless of how bad I think they handled this offseason.

2nd baseman stats? He didn't hit for enough power but he put up a 4.f fWAR season. He was the third best 3B in the entire sport last year.

In theory, this should help the White Sox attain the #1 seed which would be significant. Also, I'm not sure Houston is definitely a tier above. Carlos Correa is a huge loss and McCullers is hurt.

Yes of course but I factored that into my thinking. With this college pitching class, I hope they continue to take younger players. They generally have more upside, are more tradeable and have a lot more margin for error. If a college position player is the top guy on their board, that's probably who they should take but I think the best way to sustain success is to continue getting younger in general.

The Mets want the late 2nd rounder for Conforto though. They could get Kimbrel right now if they wanted him for very little in return.

This has definitely been an issue for multiple clubs. It's not even just about Toronto either. What if in a worst case scenario, restrictions come back in big cities and he's not allowed to play? Clubs are definitely taking it into consideration and some have ruled him out because of it. I'm just not sure it makes sense for many teams. A big market contender isn't giving up a 2nd rounder, the pool space and $500K while also paying him $18 million plus this year and then letting him walk after the season. It could make sense for a small market contender that would only give up their 3rd round pick. I just don't know who that team is. Man it's so long this year. That would be July 17th due to the draft being much later.

My early thoughts are that I hope Sox take prep outfielders with first two picks. Last year’s strategy again but with outfielders.
