  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) I think it was a bad call. Maybe, but the ball was two feet outside and in the dirt. Should never have been a close call in the first place.
  2. Nice work Conor, let's see if Alexei can actually do something here.
  3. Very nice inning from Danks, now let's get some runs off this bum.
  4. That's just embarrassing that we're able to get Johnson & Eaton on to the start an inning and can't score one single run.
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 08:05 PM) Thank the love of God. Never f***ing mind, he's out as f***.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 08:03 PM) Good thing he gave up a strike trying to bunt Especially against a guy as wild as Bauer, what's the point of potentially putting yourself behind in the count.
  7. I f***ing hate bunting right now, got to assume Danks will give up more runs.
  8. Our lineup has 5 guys with OPSs below .600, many considerably worse than that. At some point these guys will start to rebound and when that happens our team could go on a nice little run. Having said that, we desperately need Danks to stop being an automatic loss for that to happen. Hopefully he can figure his s*** out tonight, because he hasn't even looked 5th starter material this season IMO.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 04:45 PM) They've said nothing about the chance of him starting this year. With that said, I think Noesi is pitching for his starting job tomorrow. Honestly, if the Sox brass thinks Erik Johnson is back to his 2013 form, then I see the Sox having an incredibly short leash with Noesi. Still allows Rodon an extended stint in the bullpen and gives us a little more time to make a final decision on Danks.
  10. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 07:30 AM) Sanchez has a high average, but that will come screaming down. His BABIP is .615. He has a 7 to 1 K to BB ratio. He has gotten off to a strong start, but it is most because he is getting lucky. The organization is in better shape if Micah Johnson is the guy because of his much higher ceiling. You have got to give Johnson time. It's been barely 10 games for him, not even close to being enough time to make an educated decision. Agree, you have to give Micah a good 2 to 3 months before even considering a change. Micah's K rate has been too high, but he's also got a BB rate in the double-digits. His BABIP is also pretty low for a guy with his speed. Long-story short, he hasn't looked overmatched yet offensively despite what the numbers may say and until then he deserves a legit opportunity at the 2B job.
  11. QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 06:16 AM) I sure hope that you're right, "Dick" and that I'm over reacting. However, I really don't think that I am. It will be interesting to see how he pitches, his next start. I think you're overreacting quite a bit here Lillian. Someone already posted this, but his velocity so far looks pretty similar to his overall April/early May numbers from the last two years. Looks like he constantly starts off a little light with the fastball, but gets back up to that 91.5 to 92 MPH range by mid May. I think it's way too early to jump to any conclusions here. http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfxo.aspx?pla...=P&pitch=FA
  12. Awesome game today, need to take the series tomorrow.
  13. I'll be making the trip to Detroit tomorrow to attend this game and anything less than a win would be an epic failure. f*** A TIGER!!
  14. Sale (1-0, 1.50 ERA) vs Sanchez (1-1, 3.46 ERA)
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 17, 2015 -> 05:13 PM) I actually think PK would be a great manager, but it's been too soon, and I think too many saw his PR tour ending where he was barely engaged in games for that to work. Why in the world do you think a guy with zero managerial experience would be a good manager? Basing such an important decision exclusively on a man's character is exactly how we got into this mess to begin with.
  16. QUOTE (brett05 @ Apr 15, 2015 -> 01:06 PM) As history shows you aren't trading anything if Rodon is the real deal. What in the world are you talking about?
  17. Bauer at 103 pitches, got to think he's got one more inning max.
  18. Alright make that two runs. Keep it up guys. A Soto blast would be nice right about now.
  19. At least the shutout is gone and so is Danks. Finally feel some hope.
