  1. Which is going to be a problem, because even if he's effectively wild, he's going to be out of the game in 5 innings.
  2. We really need Liriano to keep his pitch count down, because I have little confidence in our offense tonight, so more than 2-3 innings could be very dangerous.
  3. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 09:31 PM) Tigers have just as many flaws as we do as a team. And people are getting their panties in a bunch over us losing an all-around ugly game by both teams. Neither team deserved to win this one. Also, I'm starting to get some 2005 vibes around here. Most people on Soxtalk had all but given up on the team that year when the Indians made their late run. I remember I had tried using "logic" to say we were still in good shape by showing everyone the obvious schedule advantage we had and I just got s*** on. Unforunately, pesisimism rules on this website.
  4. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) This is far from over.. even if we are swept we are still tied for 1st.. relax people. I just don't want to ever see Thornton again.. man he needs to go. Great post, but I disagree about Thornton. We should continue using him, just NEVER in high leverage situations. He's a coward, plain and simple.
  5. And this season is OVAH! We had a good run, but this sweep will be too hard to rebound from. At least we got football in less than a week!
  6. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:58 PM) Because thats the way some people express themselves, why do you not realize this? Don't let it bother you so much. Then they should be watching the game alone in a dark room with a box of razor blades. I have no problem with people getting down when we're behind late in a game, but to predict failure in future games just seems pathetic to me. There is no reason to lose hope for the next two games just yet.
  7. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) I think most people deep down knew we're getting swept this weekend. We can't beat the tigers in Detroit right now. That's just the truth. We can still win this, however, after being tied for the division lead on Sept 3. Jesus f***ing Christ, we may get swept, but can we just play the damn games without the constan pessimism. Why do some of you even follow this team if all you ever want to do is predict doom and gloom.
  8. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:37 PM) typical Chicagoan, so f***ing sensitive Not really, I just think fans that actively cheer against their own team suck worse than Matt Thornton
  9. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:32 PM) beast You are just a terrible Sox fan
  10. Please not Thornton, where's Septimo when you need him?
  11. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:12 PM) I live llike45 mins from Detroit in Toledo haha are you calling me Canadian?.....lol jk Do you have Tim Hortons in Toledo? That's the easiest way to know.
  12. If Peavy can go 7, that would help us big time tomorrow with Liriano on the mound.
  13. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:05 PM) You don't like my cool new saying? Nothing personal, but we probably score two there had you not made that comment.
  14. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) I Same here and Detroit is practically in Canada! I don't give a f*** what Clint Eastwood has to say about it!
  15. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 07:49 PM) We'll get at least 1 this inning. America f*** yeah!
  16. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 08:02 PM) Come on Paulie, you're due. mean mugs no shoulder shrugs Please stop with these shenanigans.
  17. I'll tell you what, I hated Wise when Ozzie made him our leadoff a few years back, but I've been impressed with him this year. He's a very solid 4th OF.
  18. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) Gettin' at least 25 this inning. I'd be happy with 1, but 25 would do too
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 07:48 PM) Smyly's pretty good. How's he out of the pen?
  20. The problem is our system doesn't have a ton of depth, so even doing a top 5 prospect by position is tough. You almost have to combine prospects into groups. For example, here's my top 5 middle infielders: 1) Carlos Sanchez 2) Tyler Saladino 3) Marcus Semien 4) Joey DeMichelle 5) Nicholas Basto
  21. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 04:58 AM) Can't wait for a Beckham type 1B /not sure if serious You want KW to trade for Justin Smoak?
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 23, 2012 -> 08:41 AM) But I still think he needs to start 2013 in AAA, both to give Beckham another chance (with his talent, I'm just not quick to give up yet), and to allow Sanchez to develop. The guy is 20 years old, there is no huge rush here. I agree on this. Beckham will probably be in the $2 - $3 million salary range next year. Let him start the season as your 2B and go from there. We should have both Sanchez & Saladino at AAA next season, so we've got two options in case Beckham continues to underperform. Worst case scenario, one of those guys comes up after a couple months of seasoning at AAA and Beckham becomes a very solid UT.
