  1. Hahn misreading the market once again…just as @fathom predicted
  2. I’m starting to think this is like The Americans and Rick is a sleeper agent for the Cubs who has been long conning us this entire time. No other explanation for how bad his tenure as GM has been.
  3. Whose fault is that no one was interested in the next tier of prospects? Fire this clown ASAP!
  4. Hahn entered the season with Andrew Vaughn & Gavin Sheets as key pieces of our OF mix. Prior to the Pollock trade, Rick specifically mentioned these guys as primary options to fill the RF hole despite being slow, lumbering 1B/DH types. Because of injuries to players with poor records of health and Pollock's inability to play RF, both Vaugh & Sheets have received a significant amount of OF time this year. As the vast majority of Soxtalk predicted, playing 1B/DH types in the OF has led to incredibly bad OF defense and has negated much of the value these two would otherwise provide with the bat. To put this into perspective, I took the DRS for all OFs with at least 300 innings played and then calculated their DRS on a per 9 inning basis. 112 different OFs met this threshold and guess who rank dead last. That's right, Gavin Sheets & Andrew Vaughn ranked 111th & 112th respectively. Even more amusing is that Vaughn is nearly twice as bad as Sheets is on a rate basis. To think these guys were potential everyday OF options is probably a fireable offense for a major league GM, but to stick with them post trade deadline should result in an effective ban from any future front office position. Rick Hahn is legit incompetent and needs to be fired if this organization ever wants to take a step forward. No doubt there are other large problems within the organization, but I have never seen such poor vision and horrible execution from a GM whose team is in the middle of its competent window. This trade deadline just reinforces all of Rick's flaws and make the need for change even more painfully obvious. Fire the dude and finally give us a chance to become an above average organization.
  5. We can only hope, although that would just give more power to La Russa in the short run.
  6. It’s amazing how incompetent he is. I’m sorry, but the system being garbage isn’t an excuse. There were players who would of helped that would not have cost Montgomery or Colas.
  7. Probably, but does he normally have a press conference to say nothing he did on deadline day? Usually he just has Merkin tweet something about the Sox not liking the prices and feeling good about what they have.
  8. When do trades typically stop coming in? About 15 minutes after the deadline ends?
  9. Lol…Hahn couldn’t even pull off a Givens trade ?
  10. If you were going to standpoint, we should have sold off short-term pieces and relievers. Why is Cueto here if we aren’t even trying to do anything but squeak by into a short playoff series?
  11. I think a competent GM could retool this thing pretty quickly, but that dude is not Hahn that’s for sure.
  12. I’m scared of what Hahn might do if we was 100% all in, but if this is all we’re doing then he’s failed completely.
  13. 10 minutes left bud…brace yourself for the unexpected
  14. Probably a good approach to life as a Sox fan
  15. I still think this happens…although not sure we’ll like the outcome if it does
  16. Hahn claimed earlier there would be money to be spent and they usually save some money for the deadline, but who the fuck knows at this point. Taking on a moderately expensive, underperforming LOOGY seems even dumber if they were truly cash strapped.
  17. Has Hahn spoken yet? Not looking good at the moment. I totally get not buying controllable pieces right now, but there were plenty of rentals who could have helped us and Hahn has passed on all them as of this moment. Right now I’d give Rick an F for trade deadline performance to go along with F off-season score.
  18. That would probably be more impactful than trading for any player not named Soto in all honesty
  19. I’m guessing something like Crochet, Ramos, & Popeye for Happ & Givens happens in the last 30 minutes and to me that’s a big overpay IMO.
