Chicago White Sox

Firing Haber and hiring Lin already paying off!

For perspective, Ferris got a $3M signing bonus in the same draft that Pallette got $1.5M. We simply don’t have a comparable prospect with lots of time before needing protection outside of Schultz. And to fathom’s point, Schultz is a far better prospect.

They have nowhere for Busch to play and he’s eroding value in AAA. This is a pretty smart trade all things considered.

My buddy who has a legit connect to the Cubs front office told me that they view Ferris as their second best pitching prospect after Horton. So in their view, it’s a big price to pay.

What caliber of prospects?

@SoCalChiSox - The Cubs just stole our savage!!

The deadline to agree to terms for arbitration eligible players was roughly 10 minutes ago. Here is the list of White Sox players along with MLBTR projections and final agreements: Dylan Cease (4.089): $8.8M => $8.0M agreement Michael Kopech (4.041): $3.6M => $3.0M agreement Touki Toussaint (3.071): $1.7M Garrett Crochet (3.028): $900k Andrew Vaughn (3.000): $3.7M => $3.25M agreement Michael Soroka (5.009): $3.0 => $3.0M agreement Nicky Lopez (4.139): $3.9M => $4.3M agreement

I think it’s very likely he’s traded next off-season assuming there is a team that can and is willing to trade a ton for him.

Final offer to the O’s for me would be Kjerstad, Westburg, & Baumeister. The O’s keep their top three studs, future stars Ortiz & Norby to solve 2B, and all their advanced pitching prospects. Sox address RF & 2B immediately and get an arm with mid rotation ceiling. Win win for both sides. Go seal the deal Getz!

I’m sure the Padres don’t mind trading a bunch of top prospects to get the Orioles’ sloppy seconds and help them land two stars in the deal!

I gotcha…and yeah, not getting Robert with their spare and second tier prospects alone.

The Orioles wouldn’t be able to get Robert without Holliday.

One?

Realistically if we plan to trade Robert next winter, who are the clubs that would even have the prospects to get a deal done?

It really lacks any sense of reality.

Looks like you should be happy

While true, I’ll take the fish while Jerry is still ticking

Maybe…just depends on if they feel he can start. While left-handed setup men are obviously valuable, they aren’t important to kick off a rebuild.

Sure, but can’t bank on one potential buyer.
