  1. Dude…this is nowhere close to reality. Detmers is a former top 50 prospect who finally figured things out under Mike Maddux and who currently has the peripherals of a high end SP. His value with 2 1/3 years of control is going to be very high. People pay for expected go-forward performance and not past. Meanwhile, Lodise isn’t even an org top 20 guy for me and Bergolla is semi interesting due to age & hit tool, but lacks ceiling and is also currently injured again. They are nothing but secondary pieces in a trade for Detmers. Fine if you don’t like the player or price, but let’s avoid creating false realities here.
  2. Will require more than that.
  3. My official prediction is Carlson, Quero, & Adams and I think most people will hate that.
  4. Five days or less until Detmers is a White Sox. Just a prediction, but I am very confident it happens. Soxtalk won’t be a fun place afterwards if it does…lol.
  5. Plenty of facts…maybe try reading this Noah Schultz is working on his slider, and embracing chal...Noah Schultz has a 6.04 ERA heading into tonight’s game against Max Fried and the Yankees, which will take place exactly a week ahead of the Aug. 3 trade deadline, as the first place White Sox hunt st
  6. He’s not a pitching coach though…he’s the Director of Pitching and responsible for the broader pitching infrastructure across the org and is involved in all major player acquisition decisions. You can say there is a lack of pitching talent in the minors, but I’d disagree and argue it just feels that way due to all the injuries we have incurred. Regardless, there is no arguing that many acquisitions have been subpar under Bannister, our pitcher health has imploded since he joined the organization, and development has stalled for many of our best prospects. How much is on him is impossible to say, but given he has his hands in all these areas it’s hard to not hold him to partially responsible.
  7. Oh 100% agree on that front. Mason should be prioritized over Urquidy.
  8. It’s weird, although maybe they were just trying to accommodate Urquidy. This was Mason’s normal day to start and he still pitched, but in a relief role and less innings than usual.
  9. I definitely don’t think Adams survives this deadline.
  10. I noticed this is the minor league thread. Very weird they used him in this capacity when we are desperate for SP and have already punted on Hagen & McDougal being used in those roles.
  11. Great to see Shelton turning the corner at AA. He had some great batted ball data in High A and I was fairly optimistic about him. AA is a huge step and you don’t always see guys like Boston Smith get there and hit from day 1.
  12. I’d recommend reading the Sox Machine article above. It goes through this in detail with quotes from both Noah & Bove. Just sounds like they tinkered way too much and added a ton of complexity to his arsenal.
  13. The fact we are about to enter August and none of Schultz, Hagen, or Tanner have instilled any confidence in their ability to be major league pitchers is a massive concern. Throw in the complete Oppor meltdown and the ride range of injuries and it raises a lot of questions. Bannister feels like a guy who tries to get too cute and outsmart everyone. Changing Noah’s slider that was considered one of the best pitches in the minors is an example of that.
  14. Yeah, hard to endure the power outage we have seen since the ASB. It will normalize at some point, but my flood is it brutal watch in real time.
  15. This offense just looks tired to me…feel like they need something to drive a spark. Was hoping the five HR game would have done that but alas
  16. Definitely slid off on the jumbotron
  17. Kay did his job…can’t win games when your offense can’t score s%*#
  18. I recently saw Romeo’s BABIP…should theoretically be impossible but then saw he’s also rocking an 18% infield popup rate. Holy s%*# is that bad.
