  1. Sure, if my optimism proves unwarranted then flame away. But I don’t expect us to trade for two expensive SPs. I fully expect us to add one though and hopefully a controllable guy like Detmers. And I’m confident they will because our OD payroll was a joke and there should be payroll space. And don’t forget there is a large financial incentive for making the playoffs, which is obviously attractive to Jerry.
  2. They acquired him as depth given Hagen & McDougal are moving to relief roles and Schultz may run out of steam in the near future. He’s a plan C and a smart one in the event many things go wrong. The cost was effectively nothing.
  3. He’s just doomsday posting…the Panicans love being negative about everything to help suppress expectations.
  4. Robbie Ray hugwatch begins in 7 minutes.
  5. Detmers makes like $3M full season, so yes we can afford him and one bloated salary rental like Ray. It’s simple math based on the huge revenue increase vs. expectations and is being reported everywhere. Not sure why you keep puking out this Urguidy nonsense unless you’re purposely cosplaying as Jack Parkman.
  6. Smith wasn’t good, but I’ll take 7 K’s, 2 BB’s, & 0 HR’s over 4 IPs.
  7. Hopefully we’re aiming better than Jake Rogers.
  8. We may see it tonight before Robbie Ray’s start
  9. Definitely need one ASAP! f*** I’ll take a made up one just to have something to talk about!
  10. Too many of us rotating between the rumors thread and gamethread I see
  11. Venable to break his only three team meetings a year rule. They have to figure out this challenging nonsenseZ
  12. Fun quick inning for us
  13. Burke’s last 12 starts: 70 IP (5.8/GS) | 11.44 K/9 | 3.09 BB/9 | 1.03 HR/9 | 2.57 ERA | 2.92 xERA | 3.30 FIP Burke’s last 7 starts: 45IP (6.4/GS) | 11.49 K/9 | 1.41 BB/9 | 0.81 HR/9 | 1.61 ERA | 2.54 xERA | 2.39 FIP Kid has been a long run dating back to mid May, but he’s really stepped it up as of late. This includes a dominant start against the Yankees on Jun 18th. Let’s hope he keeps it up and helps us get the split today.
  14. I believe he’s scheduled to make his first start back on Sunday if not traded beforehand.
  15. Colson has gone from a 6 win pace to a sub 4. He is still plenty young and can improve, but as of now the swing & miss really limits his ceiling. They got to find a way to get his whiff rate back to Y25 levels.
  16. I’d prefer the Tigers hold Skubal and get nothing but a comp pick, but in lieu of that the Dodgers going after a SP we aren’t going to be interested in helpful.
  17. Yup! I absolutely love the trade deadline even though 90% of the time I am underwhelmed by what the Sox do. But this time will be different as I think Getz feels the need to be aggressive but also not do something stupid.
  18. We’re officially down to 4 1/2 days to the deadline. s%*# is going to pickup soon. Some relevant SPs and when their next start is currently scheduled for: Robbie Ray: Today Freddy Peralta: Friday Michael Wacha: Friday Kevin Gausman: Saturday Jose Soriano: Saturday Clay Holmes: Sunday Shane Bieber: Monday Brady Singer: Tuesday Reid Detmers: Tuesday Seth Lugo: Tuesday Hug watch formally kicks off today with Robbie Ray’s start which is scheduled for 8:40pm CST tonight. The Giants currently have their SP listed as TBD. Will be interesting to see if they actually let him make it.
