  1. We’re going to have some fun arms to follow next year at the two A ball clubs between Kelley, Vera, Mena, Schultz, Pallette, Cannon, & McDougal. Dalquist should be there too if ugly starts are your cup of tea.
  2. I think it’s time to give up on your theoretical Vaughn for Keller fantasy ?
  3. Yup, I almost posted the same on Kopech. He just needs another year to get his arm ready for the rigors of a full season.
  4. Fully agree…just need to start DHing him far more in hopes of keeping him healthier.
  5. Pretty wild that out of the eight legit prospects we got for Sale, Quintana, & Eaton that Cease has hands down developed into the best player. Kid a fucking stud and hopefully we can give him a chance to dominate in October.
  6. This is why you don’t sell low on Eloy…dude has legit 40 HR power
  7. Spirit has a buy one get one free deal going…let’s give Seby a travel buddy in Sheets!
  8. I’d love to see how this offense would do under a different hitting coach. No doubt we’d still struggle some against tough RHP, but I’m certain we’d hit more HRs and likely see more disciplined approaches.
  9. I love every questionable decision Tony made today has paid off
  10. Tony cares more about rewarding the vet who had a hero moment yesterday than winning baseball games
  11. No Vaughn today, but more Sheets! Unless I missed an injury, fire this fucking clown!!
  12. Yeah, Jerry ain’t going to allow a White Flag 2.0 with Tony at helm.
  13. Hahn definitely loves his old guys.
  14. The big question to me is what is 4 1/2 years of Vaughn worth right now? I’d have to imagine at least two blue chip prospects plus a third interesting piece. None of the other guys in your proposed package are top 100 prospects (although I think Ramos is close), so the Nationals really have to like Vaughn or feel they can spin him off in the off-season for a haul. I proposed something similar and felt like it was a little short, but I can’t imagine too many teams are going to offer substantially more. The problem is all it takes is one Preller to do something crazy and we’re quickly out of the ballgame.
  15. Fully agree. I’d be willing to do Vaughn+++, but it can’t be Montgomery or Colas as the plusses (and I’d be hesitant to give up Vera). That means something like Vaughn, Sosa or Popeye, Ramos or Kath, and some young arm (Mena, Thompson, Kelley, etc.). Probably not enough for the Nationals, but Vaughn is as about as good of a centerpiece that I think someone would be willing to offer.
  16. GOAT insider Portillo’s confirms Sox’s involvement in Soto discussions:
  17. Because we have little to no starting pitching depth. Not suggesting that Quintana is the answer, but I’m not surprised they’re looking for an insurance arm since there isn’t anything after Martin.
  18. I’m going to make a prediction that the Sox end up trading Luis Mieses for Jose Quintana and the kid immediately proceeds to blow up in Pittsburgh’s farm.
  19. I don’t think he’s staying around much longer. At some point it either becomes clean house or make it the Hahn-Haber show.
  20. I don’t recall these discussions, but I 100% support his exit now.
  21. There are so many parties to blame for this disaster of a a season, but Hahn is chief amongst them with one of the worst off-seasons in recent memory for what should have been a legit championship contending team. A big part of that is his failure to build quality scouting and player development functions, which has stalled our pipeline of talent and has lead to poor acquisitions at the major league level. There have been some improvements recently (I like what Shirley is doing in the draft), but it’s too little too late IMO. It’s time to hold the top decision maker accountable and that means Rick Hahn has to go.
  22. If we don’t pull off a miracle here, a small part of me wants Pilkington to throw a perfect game against us.
