I mean, we could have probably gotten Escobar straight up for Konner Pilkington, so yes I’d be cool what reasonable price he would have cost us. I could be way off here, but would you trade Stiever, Ramos, Rodriguez, Thompson, Dalquist, & Sosa for Gallo? We’d practically have nothing left in the system after that.

Even if this means nothing, I’m not sure he’s going to be in the organization come Sunday. He’s got to be one of the most likeliest guys to get moved.

He is and I’d take him for the right price, but I can’t see the Cubs trading a fan favorite to the Sox for anything short of a haul and he’s simply not worth a massive price.

The optimist in me believes that has to be the case, but until it happens the fear of Leury striking out in a big situation to end our playoff run looms large.

I’m not worried about making the playoffs, I’m worried how our offense fares against tough RHP in October with Leury at 2B and god knows who in RF. The price for Escobar was super reasonable and passing on a potential 2B upgrade is just plain stupid IMO. I’m not going to panic just yet given there is still time and other options, but my optimism is starting a wane a bit. Just feels like Leury has some sort of spell on the organization.

Baez isn’t good against RHP which is what we need.

Tony does appear to love himself some Leury, hopefully Hahn doesn’t feel quite the same way.

Yeah, Escobar just seemed like a perfect fit for so many reasons. That being said, I wouldn’t be upset with Story, just concerned he’ll come at a price many of us will hate.
