Everything posted by Chicago White Sox

  1. At bare minimum, the Sox won’t be moving before their lease is up in 2029.
  2. I’d definitely love him as the figurehead of a potential ownership group.
  3. The league would never let the Sox leave at this point and they could care less about cross branding with an NFL team.
  4. How about some local billionaire who actually cares about the city and team? That’s all I need.
  5. Cubs fan can watch Sox games and vice versa, so the potential is always there. And I guarantee that if a new owner came in and spent a little money, we could steal a huge portion of the causal fanbase.
  6. Really wish there was SoxFest this year so fans could go to town on Jerry & the front office.
  7. That was decades ago and no one is leaving the potential of a top three market.
  8. The worst part is Jerry is only 84, knowing our luck we’ll be stuck with him for 16 more years.
  9. No offense, be this is just stupid. No one is leaving Chicago for Montreal or Portland and the MLB would never allow it.
  10. I’m pretty sure the Sox have fed Nightengale plenty of garbage in the past, but this time it does feel legit.
  11. Honestly, it’s so hard being a Sox fan because I’d love nothing more than for Jerry to never see another playoff team in his lifetime, but obviously not at the expense of the players and is Sox fans. Just sucks having such a shitty owner atop the organization you love.
  12. And acting like $54M over four years is this massive number is beyond laughable. I’m fucking appalled at guys like Nightengale & Sullivan carrying the water for this cheap fuck.
  13. And there it is...I can’t wait for the day Jerry is long gone.
  14. Where did you come up with that $25M? I’m sure their bear writer speculated much less.
  15. ?...definitely seems like agents baiting the Twins front office here. Also, that’s the exact lineup I posted when this rumor first appeared. In the tiny chance we get him, is that pretty much the consensus on what the lineup should look like?
  16. I think we add someone like Wainwright on a 1/$6M deal and that’s our offseason other than some NRIs.
  17. I have zero optimism that we’re adding anything of significance after Stone’s ridiculous “be thankful for what you have” tweet. Unfortunately, Jerry is a cheap fuck and ain’t going to take any chances in the wake of COVID.
  18. I don’t know if they’re done or waiting on bargains or working trades, but it’s scary watching the market quickly thin out.
  19. Which is why I’m not against a Nomar addition. We could use a left-handed corner OF bat with power to fill in when Eloy or Eaton are injured. Personally, I’d rather have a player like that and get rid one of our other reserves. IMO, Leury & Engel are somewhat redundant unless you plan on using Leury a lot more in the IF.
  20. I’m one of Cease’s biggest fans, but a team with serious contention hopes would enter the season with Dylan as the #5 given all his uncertainty. Instead right now he’s our #4 and Lopez is our #5 and that’s not a risk worth taking even if you think Kopech will be ready early on.
