  1. I have zero optimism that we’re adding anything of significance after Stone’s ridiculous “be thankful for what you have” tweet. Unfortunately, Jerry is a cheap fuck and ain’t going to take any chances in the wake of COVID.
  2. I don’t know if they’re done or waiting on bargains or working trades, but it’s scary watching the market quickly thin out.
  3. Which is why I’m not against a Nomar addition. We could use a left-handed corner OF bat with power to fill in when Eloy or Eaton are injured. Personally, I’d rather have a player like that and get rid one of our other reserves. IMO, Leury & Engel are somewhat redundant unless you plan on using Leury a lot more in the IF.
  4. I’m one of Cease’s biggest fans, but a team with serious contention hopes would enter the season with Dylan as the #5 given all his uncertainty. Instead right now he’s our #4 and Lopez is our #5 and that’s not a risk worth taking even if you think Kopech will be ready early on.
  5. Totally agree. And while I truly believe Cooper was a problem and there should be some hanging fruit, Katz isn’t going to be able to fix everyone and especially not in one offseason. As much as I’d love another star, I’d be content with more depth as long as we’re talking about decent players and not guys who will be DFAed come June.
  6. I love the Lynn move, but we’re on injury away from Cease being our #3 starter. That’s a problem and something that needs to be addressed.
  7. First Stone, now James...time to set off the panic ?
  8. Yup, classic White Sox half assing it. At least we have a ton of talent and should still be really good, but the window is definitely going to be shortened when they decide to make Crochet a reliever full time and when they have to trade to fill holes at the deadline.
  9. How is not an underwhelming offseason? I’m definitely happy with those two moves, but we still have a below average payroll while rocking a reclamation project in RF, a kid with 245 minor league plate appearances at DH, and a ton of uncertainty at the back of our rotation. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be a good team next year, it’s just frustrating we aren’t going all out during the first year of our competitive window.
  10. He gave my five year old son free food coupons at SoxFest one year which was pretty cool, but dude is definitely a prick on the internet.
  11. Jerry already got his award for best owner of the offseason from Sullivan, so why spend now?
  12. Gotcha, I thought that wasn’t confirmed yet, but mark him off the list!
  13. The SP is suspect but are they done adding? I could see them signing Paxton and/or making a trade for a cost-controlled starter.
  14. Honestly, I’d be fine with Mazara an interim DH / backup OF once Vaughn is up if it means we add Tanaka or Paxton.
  15. Hopefully they’re planning something with the Jays making all these moves.
  16. This is why you’re my favorite poster Ron...I’m literally dying of laughter right now.
  17. I have never seen a poster derail threads like this is in my entire time here. And I’m even counting Greg as he would eventually relinquish his crazy points at some point. Like half of this shit is legit arguing about how arguments work.
  18. Did you not follow the team last year at all? We were one of the best teams in baseball despite horrible production from RF, DH, SP3, & SP4, miscues from Nick Madrigal, Moncada being plagued by COVID, Robert going through rookie struggles, Eloy missing time, & Bummer missing most of the season. Whatever we get out of some of these trouble spots is upside vs. last year. We also are stocked with young, talented players who should get better. Your view of things is unrealistically pessimistic and continue to ignore the fact that a lot of our competition has gotten worse. I’m not satisfied with our offseason, but we are still one of the top teams on paper and should be a serious threat for the pennant baring massive injuries.
  19. Feels like the longer it takes to add a starting pitcher, the more likely it will come via trade. That is not to suggest it will be a Burnes type pitcher, but I could us acquiring a back-end piece and/or reclamation project on the cheap that they prefer over the remaining free agents. I know Harold threw out Jon Gray and I can’t imagine he’d cost much after a disastrous 2020 and with one year remaining. I can’t imagine people would be happy about that, but I could see him being a guy the Sox have always loved.
  20. He may not want to wait indefinitely while the Sox & Twins move in different directions. At some point he has to make the best of a shit hand or risk an even worse fate.
  21. Hey James, what do you think about Stones tweet about Cruz? You think he’s not up to speed on things or have the Sox maybe moved on?
