No rational person could actually believe this. Leury Garcia has a career 68 wRC+ against RHP while Nick Madrigal has a 124 wRC+. Nick has shown so far to be almost twice as effective against RHP as Leury. Garcia is not good from the left-side of the plate and there are 1,142 plate appearances to support that. I’m not joking when I say this, but Tony just not look at basic splits as insane as that sounds.

I didn’t laugh at your post and I get what you’re saying, but there is a balance here and rocking an ice cold Leury in 60% of games just seems crazy to me no matter what. I honestly think La Russa is overvaluing Leury’s switch-hitting ability and doesn’t realize that he is bad against RHP.

Leury has a xwOBA in the 2nd percentile and is somehow making his 16th start in 26 games. I simply don’t get Tony’s infatuation with him.

I know we shouldn’t be trading up anymore, but damn would I consider it for Tylan Wallace.

I like this prediction. Feels like Grandal will eventually have to do something, although maybe not against Bieber.

We can get out of Keuchel’s contract after next season if manage his innings.

What did we give up to move up?

Our WR room is still pretty weak. Robinson is a stud and Mooney is promising, but we really need to invest in the position. Mooney is the only legit guy we have under contract after this season. You don’t trade up for a QB prospect and then stop adding weapons because of guys like Goodwin & Miller. We should be going all in the offense now.

When was the front office supposed to help him sooner though? He basically spent all of 2018 & 2019 rehabbing from his Achilles injury and then got into shape prior to last season.

If I’m Pace, I’m hoping that one of Eichenberg, Marshall, or Moore is there at #52. If not, I’m looking to trade down and grab more picks.

I’ve got nothing but love for you buddy, but this is just crazy. You wouldn’t have taken Burrow last year? In all honesty, you don’t deserve a franchise QB if Manning/Luck/Lawrence are your standards.

@Jack Parkman - How do you ever expect to get a franchise QB if you only like the 1-1 in one of the deepest QB drafts in recent memory?

100% agree. Look at what the 49ers gave up for Lance compared to what we had to give up for Fields. I get the future 1st with the Bears is more attractive than the 49er’s firsts, but outside of that it’s mostly filler. And we still have our 2nd & 3rd round picks this year and can hopefully get Fields some protection and another weapon.
