Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
They have enough money to add whatever they want. Regardless, they won’t be adding two relief pitchers.

Sox Fan Therapy thread
I think it’s pretty clear we’re trying to work with Boras or we would have already seen a lesser starter like Roark signed by now. My guess is Boras has hiked up the prices on Ryu & Keuchel and seeing if anyone is desperate enough to give them four years. I still think we land Dallas for like 3/$60M which is better than nothing but still pretty sad as our big pitching addition.

You really need to stop with these conspiracy theories because you look like absolute idiot every time you post one.

Offseason 2019-2020 MLB Catch All Thread
Running out of free agents though.

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Because they want Kopech starting the season in AAA so he can gradually build up innings and get us an extra year of control.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
Where and on who though?

Successful Plan B; What’s Next?
Dude needs to swap 4 & 5 because Mazara will be our second big bat this offseason!!

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
Yeah pretty much.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
I meant once Cole & Strasburg were off the board.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
We’ve already spent nearly $200M of it between Abreu, Grandal, & Eloy. That leaves almost exactly $50M for Keuchel before the money has officially been spent!!

I know this will sound kind of dumb, but if I knew was unable to pursue Cole or Strasburg, I would have gone after Corbin last winter and given myself two chances to land a potential TOR starter (along with Wheeler this year). But my true fallback would have been signing Rendon (he can technically be backup plan IMO), move Moncada back to 2B, and then use Madrigal in a trade for a controllable starter. Money is a powerful asset if you actually leverage it creatively

It would be spending your money as effectively as possible. Now we’re stuck with second & their tier free agents or just nothing to spend it on. But hey, I wouldn’t want to love Moncada around again.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
Lol...honestly he could be. Really sad that he’s the caliber of free agent we should probably expect at this point.

I think Hahn hyped up the two starter angle long enough that even he knows he needs to land one name guy. That guy will likely be Keuchel and my guess is he will get around 3/$60M.

Can’t strike out if you don’t even step up to the plate.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
Yup, disappointed <> shocked or surprised.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
Of course not, but a savvy front office would have leveraged their financial flexibility by pursuing the beat guys available fit be damned.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
They’ll land him or Price. I don’t think they’re infatuated with MadBum and Ryu’s durability probaly scares them. Keuchel is in that sweet spot between good and not good enough that will allow the Sox to get him on a three year deal and Uncle Jerry will love that.

I will move to fucking Florida so I can be even farther from this team if they bring Nova back.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
I don’t disagree, but they put all their eggs into the Wheeler basket and had zero backup plan. Now with our affordable 1 win RF and most SP options off the board, it’s going to be hard to sport an even respectable payroll.

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
I hope you like Kuechel because that’s going to be our big starting pitching addition assuming we put our Boras boycott to rest!

Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
Can’t wait to see what’s next!!
-
Angels sign Rendon - 7yrs 245
Apparently we plan to use a little here and a little there so we can find slightly below league average payrolls.

It’s truly sad that our offseason was Grandal, Wheeler, or bust.

Sox and Sawks to see if the Price is Right
Sounds like they’re getting Rendon.
