  1. QUOTE (bmags @ May 9, 2016 -> 10:50 AM) Right, I thought so too. What threw me off was how he left, basically not as leader of the wildling army or ensuring support of the watch. I wonder how he patches up power. I don't think he left the wall, I think he was going north of the wall to go pray at the weirwood tree. I suspect we're going to get something like the pink letter / Sansa's arrival at the wall in the interim at which point he'll raise banners and Davos will set off as his hand.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 10, 2016 -> 04:25 PM) It's very high on my best of list so far. I do wish that it used Patrick Stewart more. He didn't really have a signature moment. I liked how quiet his performance was, I don't know about a singular moment where it transcends but I thought some of his best scenes were when he was negotiating with the band through the door. Both him and Yelchin turned in some strong work in those scenes. Agreed that it's one of the best of 2016 so far, really came out of that theater in knots. Last line in the film is GOAT.
  3. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 12:06 PM) The radical left-winger in me says "doing something" about crime is about more than just having more cops. What, like addressing education, poverty, and recidivism? Those causes are so far left you may as well move to Scandinavia. You pinko f**ot.
  4. I wish I lived in this fantasy world where most workers are competent and people are rewarded on merit. As someone who has suffered through HR duties for extended periods of my life I can tell you that a good 80% of people you encounter in life are f***ing morons. Trust in the bell curve. Christ, I forgot you downy soft baseball fans had a language filter. Keith, what the devil is this?
  5. Here is the white house press briefing with all the details. http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office...osama-bin-laden
  6. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 2, 2011 -> 01:36 AM) Osama's stated goal was not to defeat the US straight up in a military conflict (which is not possible) but to bankrupt us by overreacting and nearly punching ourselves out. How's that working out for us? Just asking. This happened because of robust intelligence and special ops work, and had nothing to do with military presence in Iraq or Afghanistan... something I've been screaming for 7, 8 years now I wonder if they tortured the guy that gave up the courier.
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 2, 2011 -> 12:34 AM) No, Bin Laden was killed 3 days ago. They officially confirmed it today with DNA tests. Sounds like this happened today. Mother Jones is doing some great reporting on this. Found a report from earlier today from Pakistan about a helicopter crash and an explosion/gunfire. http://www.thenews.com.pk/TodaysPrintDetai...amp;dt=5/2/2011
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 2, 2011 -> 12:34 AM) Everybody's flipping the f*** out like Osama's followers weren't already trying to kill us. word.
  9. Just release some chemical agents into the water supplies.
  10. The IOC has always held that they look at cities not continents.
  11. @bmags & Keith. I don't know what you guys are talking about.
  12. QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 11:46 AM) Credit goes the the former IOC president and his "death bed plea." That definitely put them over the top I think. The prime minister's presentation was also very good and not in the same rah rah rah go team vein as all the other heads of state. I think 85% of the infrastructure for this would already be in place too, though Brazil's big stadium will be renovated for World Cup 2014 so I suspect all of that will be up to snuff in time too.
  13. QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 2, 2009 -> 11:39 AM) Well it's the truth. If Chicago lost in the last round, then you can blame the bid, or the city. But to lose in the first round despite one of the best bids being put together and support from the president? There's more to it then Chicago's credentials. I think a lot of credit goes to Madrid's bid making this difficult rather than any deficiency in the American bid.
  14. According to the conference calls the parks east of the Mississippi will continue to operate as is. Meaning Marvel characters will probably get some play in Disney in Ca. Whatever money Marvel was earning out of these agreements go to Disney but Disney can't break these deals. Fox & Sony still own the rights to the movies they're currently producing, from an article I read there will be one more movie after The Avengers. Pixar is already working on a movie based on John Carter of Mars and apparently there's something else that's in the pipeline. I am f***ing stoked. The Wolverine/Xmen licenses can't be free of Fox soon enough for me.

That's rather unfortunate. I don't know, I was hooked from the first scene on the dairy farm. That was a great piece of film, QT fan or not (which I'm mostly not)...

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 27, 2009 -> 12:18 PM) He just likes weird shots sometimes... at least in that instance... I think. Some film student will come up with a reasoning, though. Someone at a movie board I post at mentioned that the reason Landa made her wait for the creme before digging in was because the creme would have been non-kosher.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 03:24 AM) I don't believe I've ever felt a more excruciating movie experience like I did watching Miracle at St. Anna. I've watched three fourths of the movie and don't think I have it in me to finish the rest. It has to be the slowest moving war themed drama ever created. And every character on screen is annoying and worthy of dying, especially Tree. Didn't catch The Thin Red Line then?
  21. I liked the demo, felt like an awesome splinter cell game. Definitely not meant to be played as your average super hero beat em up type game.

Did he have any close ups of feet in those scenes?
  23. The fourth Diablo III class has been revealed, it's a monk. http://www.diii.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=3176 Not sure what to think of that, seems like it would be pretty close to the witch doctor.
