  1. Anybody still a member? What section is the "Sox Pride" section that they offer tickets in? Otherwise worth the $30 to be a member? I don't think I've been a member since like '09 and was just wondering what you guys thought....
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 18, 2015 -> 10:36 AM) You have to be cool. You sir, are not cool. Well played. *crickets*
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 18, 2015 -> 08:38 AM) I'm going to batting practice today. Sox invited me. Anyone gone recently? How does one get invited to BP?? I really miss those days....wish we could all still get in early enough to see some BP take place before the games.
  4. JA with like 14 first inning HR's now.....how long until he catches The Big Hurt?
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 08:26 AM) I do believe that is illegal, good sir.
  6. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 11, 2014 -> 07:34 PM) So, "El Canon" is here to stay. What do we all think? I wish Hawk would stop trying so hard... That's what I think.
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Mar 27, 2014 -> 02:16 PM) flowers is so s***ty What happened this time??
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 09:20 AM) I've sat in the second row before, I thought it was great. For the other majors sports, the front row ruins you sightline of the whole field, but I don't see that being an issue with baseball. You should be able to see everything fine and being so close to the action is sweet. This ^^^
  9. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 22, 2013 -> 10:39 AM) I'm suppose to go to the game tonight but I'm not sure the weather will hold up. I read that it should be clear at game time but rain will fall toward the end. Is that was everyone else is reading? I'm in the same boat, it looks like we're looking at a soggy game one way or another. Hopefully Hector can give us a quality start or it's going be really long night. Last I saw it looks like they will get it in though (fingers crossed) with some rain drops falling before, during, and after the game.
  10. Tickets right behind home plate tonight, never seen Sale pitch, and he is scratched. Why God, why do you hate me!?!?
  11. Where can I find last night's GT....I was at the game and would like to mull it over. Thanks guys!!
  12. Get this one in without problem?? I see scattered T-showers (not Flowers) around gametime, but The Sodfather and the boys will get it done and we should finish this thing as scheduled. Of course, this is wishful thinking on my part considering I'm driving 3 hours to sit in the Club Level and watch Lester lose his first of the year...
  13. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 12:32 PM) Silly, that is T² + TW + W². It would have to just be 2(TW), which looks far less cool (Tipping cap)
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 11:58 AM) You are clearly loaded with TWTW. It's too long already....how about TW²
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 09:31 AM) Cry more. Close 2nd for POTM
  16. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 30, 2013 -> 10:04 AM) TWTW+ is better and accounts for cross-year park factors and the positioning of Venus. POTM
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 26, 2013 -> 12:15 PM) It's an embarrassment for the franchise, not for me personally. I don't see any evidence that Hawk knows more about the game than 99% of the people here. About actually playing the game at the professional level? Sure, for however relevant the 60's experiences still are. For GM'ing a team? Sure, for however relevant his disastrous run in the 80's still is. About the modern day ins-and-outs of baseball, especially in-game strategy? He seems to be proudly and willfully ignorant. Stats are great, but like he said (and Harold had his back on this) even with the information being there for the manager there is still an instinct and a gut feeling for THAT moment. I think sabermetrics have thier place in the game without doubt, but I don't think that you can use sabermetrics for every situation of every game.
  18. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 08:27 AM) Scored Scout seats at work. They better win if I'm missing the draft. I'd rather have Scout seats at US Comisk-u-lar
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 02:58 PM) Was that last part really necessary? Let's tone it down a little bit. I actually agree with you that it is a bit insulting to question people's fanhood because they haven't been to a game yet, one week into the season. I also agree with SS2K5 that the Sox fan base is fickle, that is just the way it is. But, the OP also was specifically pointing to people who were complaining about ticket and parking prices - and he's right that they don't have much room to complain anymore. But it is also WAY too early to make a judgment on how the price changes will or won't hurt things. QUOTE (My_Sox_Summer @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 03:12 PM) I will be at the park all spring / summer / fall, come say hi. The last comment should have been in green, obv I don't care enough about you or your opinions to actually mean what I said. Point was made though, get off your high-horse Summer.
  20. QUOTE (My_Sox_Summer @ Apr 8, 2013 -> 02:06 PM) 53 games for $400. And yes, I am calling out the fans that specifically said that if the price was lowered they would go to more games. Is it early? Of course. But the excitement should be there. So spending more money makes you a better fan? Talk about absurdity. If you still don't understand why I did what I did last summer, I can't help ya. There are 50+ blog posts to help you understand it. Taking advantage of deals and putting in effort beyond logging into Ticketmaster, isn't grabbing free tickets. And I am pretty sure any member of this board is allowed to make a thread about anything they want. You choose to respond to it or not. I think we all go to as many games a year as we can. If I had no other responsibilities, and either lived in the area or had a s***-ton of disposable income then I would be there rain or shine. The place is a mecca to most of us and just because you were resourseful/lucky enough to attend 50 games last year doesn't mean you need to get up on a soap-box about attendance (or lack thereof). Congrats on "your Sox summer", I think it awesome and would love to be able to do that myself someday. With that said, so help me the next time I hear you claim that I am not a Sox fan because I haven't been to a game a week into the season because "tickets and parking are cheaper" I will find you and b**** slap you.
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 02:33 PM) Changed it for ya, although my mind was literally blown like that Hahahaha, I meant never again show the video. I quoted the exploding head because that's how I felt as well. In my 60 years of baseball I've never seen anything that bad....you gotta be bleepin me!!
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 2, 2013 -> 02:06 PM) I have no words. Please don't ever show this again
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 11, 2012 -> 08:54 PM) You aren't a history buff are you? The Sox breathed some life in them twice recently, both times they went into a skid. I don't like Gavin Floyd, never have, never will, so I won't bet $1000, but I will bet you $1000 the Sox make the playoffs. Paging Ceasar...
